Provided by YPmobileThe worst customer service ever, I was harassed for stepping out for a smoke when the rest of my party was inside still eating grabbed by my arm & told to come pay my bill, which was already covered. Other than that the food was crapy the restrooms floors were wet & slippery half of them were out of order. Will never come here again.

Provided by YP.comThe very first time I went to this place because it was a brand new restaurant in the area. The one thing I started eating had a rubber band in my sesame chicken.
Then when I stated that this was in my chicken the lady said it had to be mine.
Which I didn’t have little round RUBBBER BANDS JUST IN MY POCKETS.
Then she stated she would give me half off of my Buffett, and i wasn’t happy with that because it was gross and not to mention it wasn’t just one it was TWO!
I felt like this service, was crappy, and I walked out without paying. Because I’m not going to get disrespected saying I put rubber bands in my OWN food.
ONE LAST THING They do not speak English very well. You can’t understand most of them.

Provided by YP.comThe nice place, but too noisy, and the food always coming slowly.
The fried fish, fried chicken and beef pie is not fully cooked.
They had salt peper shrimp before, but they don't have it now and charge the same price
Last time, I just saw a waitress did not wash hands after using restroom.
I never come back again.

Provided by YP.comExcellent value. Huge selection of Chinese, and Japanese food, as well as sushi. The server was very prompt with soda refills.
They had about 10 different types of sushi available. Though some of it didn't taste the freshest. There was a very large fresh fruit and dessert bar.

Provided by YP.comOne of the pricier buffets in st loius, but the quality is amazing! Everything taste good, fresh, and hot. I tried a bit of everything and anything that looked delicious! The line was crazy long but the quality of the food makes it worth it. The variety of foods and desserts are endless. One of my favorite buffets on the strip.

Provided by YPmobileThe food was great and the atmosphere is nice, only problem was the private rooms are a little tight! I was in a group, supposed to have my own space but instead we were stuck in the middle of the whole room, and it was tight for the party - we were having a baby shower!

Provided by YP.comHaving tall kids after three previous visits they charge by Height. While my boys are 10 they charged them Adult pricing due to them being tall.
This is not a ride at Six Flags or Basketball tryouts !!!!!!!!!!! We wont be back
The food is good just dont ask questions as they cant answer and things are not always labeled or labeled well.
Beware the Soda pricing is very high as well.

Provided by YP.comI went to Hokkaido for lunch it was so much fun the hosts where really nice and I got a booth by the sushi bar. I must say those sushi chefs are really cute they are really sweet they made me some custom rolls when I asked them and just showed them what I wanted in the rolls. The grill is also delicious they were attentive to how I wanted my steak was done because I like my steaks well done, I waitress I got was extremely nice she got my refill on time and she was so nice to me. The manager that talked to me was very nice and helpful as for the height thing it is weird but it doesn't bother any part of my family because we are all adults XD I would recommend trying it for your self before listing to people that just like to complain I can't wait to go again ^^

Provided by YP.com1. You cannot get your table until everyone is arrived:
No matter how many people in your parties, you have to have them all presents to get your seats, so if you have 10 persons, but you got only 8 arrived, sorry, you have to wait until everyone arrived the reception to get your tables.
2. Kids price charging by their height:
No like other buffet in St. Louis, kid price is not base on on their age but on their height.
~ Kids on any age over 36" and under 55", they charge $6.99 each,
My daughter only 5 years but, but still need to pay $6.99 to eat (for this price, I prefer to go to Sushi Ai), but she didn't eat much because she is only 5 and nothing good to eat.
~ Kids on any age over 55" have to pay as an adult.
My friend's daughter who is 10 years old but 56" tall, need to pay $12.99.
So even your kid is only 10 years old but he/she over 55", your will be charged for 1 adult buffet for your kid.
3. Crab Legs is extra:
If you want to eat Crab Legs, you have to pay extra, they have a sign at the reception area, "Crab Legs extra $3 per person".
4. No separate checks for parties more than 12 person:
The Manage explained that their computer system cannot do separate checks.
5. Foods:
Salad bar ~ Not too bad, common choices plus some Seaweed Salad, Korean Kimchi.
Soup ~ Four choices, I think they are good because one of them is empty that I couldn't get any to try, their clam chowder is good.
Sushi ~ Many choices and taste alright, they claimed as a Japanese Restaurant but the sushi is just alright.
Asia dishes ~ Common choices as most small size Chinese buffet restaurant, their food quality is the worst in St. Louis, for the same choices (except Sushi), I would prefer eating at New China Buffet located at St. Charles Rock Road.
Mongolian BBQ ~ I haven't try their Mongolian BBQ, but they do have some cooked BBQ items serving at the counter, I picked BBQ chicken and something I don't remember, but I can't finish them as they taste really bad.
6. Services:
Waitresses are nice, willing to help us separate the checks manually as we have 4 families in our party, even the system cannot do it. How hard it is? It just depends how the waitress write make the check. We have 18 people in total, they don't have a big table for all of us, so we seated on 3 separated tables but next to each. There's no different we are 4 in a party or 18 in a party. But their sign showing at the reception area do make you sad before you get it.
Sushi Bar stopped provide fresh make sushi 1 hour before the restaurant closed:
The restaurant close at 9:00 pm but the Sushi Bar started clean up at 8:00pm.
Mongolian BBQ stopped service at 8:00pm too, they also started clean up at 8:00pm.
We talked to the Manager and suggested what they should do, but my friends and my family will not visit this Hokkaido Steak & Sushi Buffet in the near future until they make it better.

Provided by YP.comWe were told our wait would be about 15 minutes, and it was twice as long.
The lettuce on the salad bar hadn't been washed, the salad oil was rancid and there were very few salad options.
The sushi bar was barren and disappointing for both Mark (an avid sashimi eater) and myself. When I asked a chef for an avocado or cucumber roll the chef informed me that it was "sushi only" as if I am just a stupid Mid-Westerner. (The word Sushi refers to how the rice is prepared, for those who don't know.)
When I go out to eat I expect two things: to be able to eat and good customer service, so I asked for the manager after being turned away from the sushi bar and eating a trace amount of unripened (hard as a rock) fruit from the salad bar. The manager was surprised there weren't any vegetarian options on the sushi bar and made a comment that I could get a custom roll if I ordered sushi-to-go, so I said "I'll do that" to which he replied that they were too busy to custom wrap anything!!! (Even though I had been watching the chefs on the sushi bar do NOTHING but talk to each other for half an hour.) and that I should come back during lunch sometime. He didn't offer to take my "meal" (or a percentage) off the bill; even after I said, "I guess I'll just go home and eat" At the end of the conversation the manager tried to make a snide comment about my being vegetarian by asking "Well, where DO you eat when you eat out?"
So I'd like to list a FEW local places I eat, just in case you're reading, Hokkaido Managers: Applebee's, The Barn Deli, Bob Evans, Cannoli's, Chili's, China Kitchen, Cugino's, Florissant City Diner, Fresh Italy, Halls Ferry Inn, Helfer's Deli, Hendel's Market Cafe, Imo's, India Palace, The Locker Room, Lornhorn Steakhouse, Los Fuentos, Outback Steakhouse, Papa John's Pizza, Penn Station, Quizno's, Rizzo's, Roberto's, Ruiz, St. Louis Bread Co, Simply Thai, Steak-n-Shake, Taco Bell, Yacolvelli's. BTW I'll go to The Drunken Fish next time I'm craving an avocado roll.

Provided by YP.comWell it is a relief that Florissant now has another great place to eat. I do have to say that I did enjoy the food I received tonight. Well lets start with the place itself. Entering the facility started with a nice greater, and a very unique water fountain pond, and some pretty fish to look at. Very well lite and could see very well. Going into the dinning area was very open, with smaller sections for parties. Being the first time there, it was almost overwhelming the amount and selection of food I am almost getting ready to eat. The dinning area is large with plenty of seating. Won't have a problem on a busy day.
Ok, let's get to the food.
Food selection is pretty large compared to most of the buffets I have been too, Plenty of different variances of the oriental food we have come to love. If you like Sushi, you well enjoy the different varieties they have. Going from Sushi, to frog legs (yes they do taste like chicken, YUM!), to scallops, to the grill, you may even enjoy Prime Rib sliced for you. For desert a selection of fruit and several varieties of the common cookies and pastries you normally get, but the kicker was watching all the kids at the chocolate fountain, that was great, there eyes would pop open and months drop. Fun addition.
So over all I must say that it will be a great addition to Florissant, with good food, nice environment, and a good price, the Hokkaido Steak & Sushi Buffet well be a stopping point for me and my family.
But I must say, I was kinda disappointed that I wasn't hit on like the first reviewer. Well maybe nice time.
Thanks for a great dinner.

Provided by YP.comI was excited when I saw that a steak/sushi/seafood buffet was opening in Florissant. I went last night, 12/27/10. The inside looks beautiful. The greeters were friendly, but no one else seemed to care. I got to the buffet and the food looked great, though I had a hard time understanding what everything was. There was a young man at one of the stations, cutting some meat. He would not stop hitting on me! He made me feel so uncomfortable, He was saying generic "hey baby" lines, but he was really persistent. I can not believe that they would let an employee behave like that!
When I actually got to eat the food, I was flustered and upset, but, it was delicious! I LOVE the oysters and shrimp! The price was very reasonable, considering the atmosphere, and the types of food served. I would like to say that I would go back again very soon, but I will probably not go as often because of that employee. He was just too over the top, and I do not want to go through that again.
