Me and my girlfriend (I am Hispanic and she is black) went to this ULTA specifically because it is the closest one to us. We were harassed by staff who were supposedly providing "customer service". And on our way out of the store, after making a purchase, we saw police officers standing outside. We thought it was a bit odd and wondered what was going on. We get less than halfway to our vehicle before we get stopped by 2 officers ordering us to sit down on the ground. We were publicly humiliated all because the store manager for the day accused us of stealing merchandise. Apparently being females of color and keeping cosmetics in our handbags is a crime and grounds for accusations of theft. The officers went through our belongings, and saw that we didn't have anything that wasn't on a receipt, other than products that were used and not available from ULTA. After that, we had to wait even longer while they checked the cameras. And again, they found NOTHING! We didn't do anything wrong, and it was proven. And not only did we not receive an apology by an employee, even the officers seemed to take the employee's word over ours and hard evidence! They said the manager was convinced we were stealing. They watched us like Hawks and we barely made it out of the door. How much more proof did they need?? I love Ulta, and we've been in that store many times but I'm definitely never returning to this location. That manager left the company open for a lawsuit! I have spent so much money at multiple Ulta locations, and now I'm definitely rethinking ever returning to one of your stores ever again.
