Dr. Michael G. Kanosky is a board-certified plastic surgeon serving the community of Flowood, MS and the surrounding Jackson, MS areas. He performs a wide variety of aesthetic surgeries for the face, breast, and body, as well as numerous laser treatments to nonsurgically enhance the appearance of the skin and treat certain irregularities. Common skin removal surgeries performed by Dr. Kanosky for patients at the end of their weight loss journey may include an arm lift, thigh lift, or a lower body lift. For rejuvenation of the skin, Dr. Kanosky offers multiple nonsurgical approaches using laser treatment. This method can be used to treat veins, skin lesions, scars, and to tighten the skin without the downtime associated with surgery. Additional laser treatments provided by Dr. Kanosky include laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal, and nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation. Dr. Kanosky received his Doctorate in Medicine from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He then completed an internship and general surgery residency in New Orleans at Charity Hospital and Louisiana State University Medical Center affiliated hospitals. Afterward, he completed a research fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

Incompetent and unethical plastic surgeon

In 2004, I chose Dr. Jabaley to perform my tummy tuck. When the bandages were removed, I discovered that I had a thick vertical scar from a deformed belly button to a jagged horizontal scar that extended from hip bone to hip bone. Dr. Jabaley's reaction? Surprise. And he said "Hmmm.....I've never seen that before." Seriously?! He supposedly did the surgery!

He immediately exited the exam room and his nurse gave me a sympathetic look. My husband was livid. Dr. Jabaley's nurse later came back in the room and said that he could try to perform a corrective surgery on the scar. I agreed. Under only local anesthesia, he tried to make the scar thinner and the horizontal scar less jagged. Not successful. I was traumatized, embarrassed and so incredibly remorseful for having the surgery. I could barely look in the mirror.

I attempted to file a lawsuit against him. After contacting several prominent lawyers in the Jackson area, one of the lawyers finally said "Look. You were disfigured. I'm really sorry for what happened to you in surgery but Dr. Jabaley and his family are very well known in the Jackson area. You just aren't going to find a good lawyer who will want to take your case against him. I'm sorry." I even obtained my medical records and the op notes. His notes and drawings post-op and in follow-up exams do not document the vertical scar and he says in follow-up exam notes that I have "minor complaints" but am doing well. Completely false.

I moved to Houston the following year and got two second opinions from very well respected plastic surgeons. They were simply amazed. Neither had ever seen such a botched tummy tuck in all their years of practice. I've undergone two additional corrective surgeries to try to diminish the appearance of the vertical scar and the ridiculous belly button he created.

To all the ladies who might be considering plastic surgery - there are so many wonderful plastic surgeons out there - but Dr. Jabaley is not one of them. I would hate for another woman to go thru the experience that I have had.
