Dr. James Dustin Watts has been practicing dentistry for the past sixteen years specializing in Endondontics since 2007. He received a BS Degree from Belhaven University in 1994 and his DMD Degree from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in 2000. Following graduation from UMMC, Dr. Watts entered the United States Air Force where he was assigned to Ramstein AB, Germany. While serving in the USAF, he practiced general dentistry for five years. After completing his assignment in Germany, Dr. Watts was stationed in Texas where he received specialty training in Endodontics while attending the University of Texas Health and Science Center and Wilford Hall (USAF) Medical Center in San Antonio. Dr. Watts’ research gained recognition from his peers with publications twice in the Journal of Endodontics. Dr. Watts also served as Chief of Endodontics and Support Flight Commander at Andrews AFB, MD. While at Andrews, he was responsible for teaching Endodontics to dental residents. Dr. Watts’ achievements also include the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and two Air Force Commendation Medals. After ten years of active military service, Dr. Watts and his family moved back to Brandon, MS where he opened Lakeland Endodontics allowing him to focus on patients in need of root canal therapy. He continues to teach Endodontics as a Reservist at Keesler, AFB, MS. Dr. Watts is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the Mississippi Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
