Founded in 1977, DePaul Family Services is a nonprofit, non-sectarian, human services organization that serves the communities of central and southwestern Virginia. It provides a range of community-based support services for individuals and families. The organization administers the Treatment Foster Care Program, which includes family reunification, independent living and therapeutic mentor services for children and adolescents with developmental delays and behavioral problems. DePaul Family Services offers assistance in the areas of education, training, adoptive home study, preplacement visitation, case management, community outreach and foster care through its adoption program. It also conducts the Developmental Disabilities Program, licensed under the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services (DMHMRSAS). DePaul Family Services maintains a location in Lynchburg, Va.
