Provided by YP.comIncompetent, unprofessional, and out-of-this-world ridiculous are the first three things that come to mind when thinking about my experience with Anita at the Fort Collins branch of Kelly Services.
We tried to hire someone under the Temp-to-Hire program, which would have required us to hire their employee for 3 months, and if it worked out, we could "buy them out" for $250. Yep, a very good deal.
The problem is, the person we set up the deal with got a new job, and the people she turned us over to decided to play games. They claimed they just wanted to "see our warehouse", and we met them an hour after being introduced. They made no complaints about our warehouse while they were there on a Friday, but on Monday afternoon, instead of getting candidates, we got an email saying we weren't eligible because our warehouse was not safe.
What wasn't safe?
Well, she only said that we had a ladder, and that boxes were being lifted that were over 50 pounds repetitively. True, we had a ladder. I don't know what about a ladder disqualifies us, and they didn't explain either. Oh, and the 50-pound box issue - well, it was an ASSUMPTION.
So, I said, we can remove the ladder, and now you know the boxes don't weigh that much. She said that there was actually a 7-page form, and THAT was the real reason. Except I wasn't allowed to see the form, or know any of the contents. We were just not safe. End of story.
I pressed to get a copy, and after hours over 2 days, finally got a fax. It was a 133-point inspection, and she scored us a 77. 80 was the threshold. 108 was necessary for green-lighting. So, we went through her inspection report, and it was riddled with errors she admitted to. She even lied on the form guessing the answers to questions that were supposed to be presented to me, but weren't (to hide the fact that it was an inspection, not an innocent walk-through). In the end, she admitted our real score was 111, not 77. So, we should be green-lighted, right?
Nope, she said she could not work with us because we confronted her about her errors. We tried to go to her superior, who defended this nonsense. Took it all the way to the head of HR at Kelly Services in Michigan. Equally ridiculous.
But the nail in the coffin for these buffoons is that after saying I would come down to the local office to talk to the superior, she CALLED THE POLICE. Said I was scaring her. I'm 5'-4" and 130 pounds. I got the call 30 minutes after her superior actually gave me the brush-off.
Bottom line, these guys don't honor their deals, and they engage in deceitful practices. I am taking them to small claims court over the time wasted, as well as the increased cost of going elsewhere.
