Electric cooperatives own 43 percent of the electric distribution lines in the United States. Poudre Valley REA offers its customers optional forms of electric generation. A number of its customers support power generated from renewable resources. Poudre Valley REA s power supplier, Tri-State Generation and Transmission, agreed to purchase for resale to cooperative members a limited amount of renewable energy from wind, solar or small-sale, low-head hydro facilities.
