Provided by YP.comOur pediatrician is very knowledgable, however, their office policies are lacking severely. My son's insurance company had a glitch in their computer system. When it resolved, the reinstated his insurance, only to find out that CDTC was not accepting 'new clients' with that insurance, only keeping existing clients. He is autistic and has been a patient of theirs for YEARS but they said that because his insurance lapsed (to no fault of our own) that he missed the cut off date by one month to stay a patient (I guess they enter them as "new patients" when their insurance lapses and starts up again). Needless to say, I find this process a little odd and would go as far as to say it's a bit negligent toward my autistic child and his needs. The office tells me there is nothing that can be done. We have to find a new pediatrician now. Trust me, I am equally as disappointed with insurance company themselves. The lapse in his coverage was their fault, not the pediatrician's, but the pediatrician, being aware of this, put "process before patient". I can understand they are unable to accept new patients, but he has been going there of over five years and a lapse in his insurance should not make him considered a new patient. The office explained to me it's not just him; ALL their SPECIAL NEEDS patients are being kicked to the curb if they have had a lapse in insurance with this particular insurance company because they are processing them as new patients if they had). For those whose insurance hasn't lapsed, they can only hope that it doesn't moving forward, or they will be dropped, too. I really do not agree with their process of considering existing patients new patients due to a temporary lapse in insurance, especially when they know full-well this was a glitch with the insurance company. If you are looking for a pediatrician who genuinely cares about the well being of children, this unfortunately is not it. There were a lot of pitfalls we put up with from this place, perhaps for too long. For example often waiting HOURS in the waiting room before even being triaged to be seen. There were times we had to leave without being seen because otherwise we would have missed other appointments. They would tell us not to schedule appointments for the same day, but our appointments were emailed to us without checking out availability first, and they had on record (through their medical home program) what days and times our other appointments were for our kids. Again, would give the pediatrician herself and her knowledge 5 stars, but the office and their practices and their lack of caring for a patient's well being, that I would give 0 stars if I could.
