Operational since 1953, The Henderson Mental Health Center is a private, nonprofit health care system that provides evidence-based behavioral health services to more than 20,000 people annually. It offers a range of residential options, including emergency shelter, longer-term assisted living, multilevel residential treatment facilities and supported independent living options. The center also provides psychosocial rehabilitation and supported employment programs. The Henderson Mental Health Center provides programs on topics related to substance abuse of children and adults. It additionally offers outpatient, family preservation and community-based services. The center provides diagnosis and treatment for several mental health disorders. In addition, it offers 24-hours crisis and case management and counseling services, as well as training on various mental health topics. The center is fully accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., The Henderson Mental Health Center employs a staff of over 600 professionals.

BIG DISSAPOINTMENT!!!!

Honestly this was my second time attempting to get help there. It seems this is where u get reffered to first by local agencies maybe because people dont have to pay if they are having financial issues which is good and all but what good is it if u wait long periods of hours to see someone. Then they are unprofessional laugh at peoples situations. and then the therapits on site are like robots asking a bunch of questions being completly insentive to peoples mental health issues. Its like an interrgation instead of a consultation . to then be told they dont give medications and in order to see a doctor is two months away. Thats ridicilous if thats what u consider a crisis center. I left there with a few pamphlets to a few other resources which was helpful but definitly not recomended for crisis . I still have no doctor and no meds and had to tell a complete stranger all kinds of real hard personal uncomfortable stuff to find out she coudnt do a damn thing but input it in a computer and set me up to see a doctor in two months . BIG DISSAPOINTMENT! My husband has also tried to go to them for help in the past and also had zero results . They should be a refferal company not mental health facility. Staff from the front desk all the way to counslor should have some proper trainig as well. I woudnt even give this place Half a star! Sorry ! But what di know huh im just the mental patient in crisis ! Hope others have better luck after my review.
