We found this guy Pete Fournier online in Craigs list when we posted an ad for someone to Duplicate and host a site we already had developed. We met with him to determine what links were going to be removed. The meeting with him which was at MY request was to see what he had done thus far and what needed to be removed from the original format AFTER we had given him a $100 Deposit. To my horror, he did not “duplicate” the site in any sense but was developing a new site, because, in my opinion has limited skills in this type of work. In speaking with him, he did not even know what “analytics” were in this business! Really? What website designer doesn’t know what Google analytics are? Nor did he know what a “squeeze” page was. It was obviously amateur hour. Regardless, we gave him the benefit of the doubt to see what design he could create. Perhaps it would be better than his initial ineptness might have indicated.Within a few days we had what he called “a feel he really liked”. Not only was it absolutely NOT what we discussed, but it was the worst design , even in the most basic terms, I have ever seen in the years Ive been a network/ internet technician. This all being done through a template and Word Press, at his admission, not a creative process. Even so, it was just hideous and looked like his first attempt at any design. We were insulted and disgusted at this point. I then sat down that evening, and with a “templated” site, created in under 3 hours the site design we are now using, and I am mildly experienced! Anyway, we declined his design and it was apparent he was not going to deliver what we needed, even now at his own admission. We respectfully requested a refund at which he tried to say only half was going to be returned, then it was studio credit ( which I do not need or want). After 1 week of no refund, we contacted him again and said it would be coming. Then we got an email from someone who claimed to be his "accountant" and was told that we would not be getting any refund whatsoever. I have filed a fraud claim with my bank. Their photography work may be nice but they know NOTHING about web design and would you work with someone who claimed they could deliver then couldnt and told you you were not getting your money back?
