I wouldn't take my dog there. I have suffered from depression all my life and I was doing OK on certain meds but I move to FL and came to Salus. They wanted to change meds because of policies they have. My opinion, if something works don't change it. Waiting times are over an hour in crowded waiting room with all kinds of strange situations and disturbances going on. Police are there a lot to due to problems. No one I talked to was happy about the service they received. Unless you are destitute find another place. Salus is depressing and you are going to spend hours there....IF,. you can get an appointment. I have been in mental care all my adult life (45 yrs.) and I have NEVER seen a place as bad as this!

Worst dehumanizing place ever. They give you false diagnosises, don't care what you have to say, feed you these horrible, sickening meds and treat you like you are nothing but scum. Do not seek help there, ever, you will come out worse than you came in. The only good thing about this place is the food, was very surprised how good it was!

Ruth Cooper, also known as Lee Mental Health is a key mential health resource in Lee County and Fort Myers. My experience with them has been they are a strong professional and dedicated team. They work with individuals facing an incredible array of problems under almost mission impossible conditions. Science and community really simply do not have 'solutions' or quick fixes to the heartbreak of mental health. This institution, its community board and staff are vital to the well being of our area.
