I met with Dr. Black about my painful bunions and he discussed all of the treatment options. After failing all other treatments, I decided to have my bunion corrected on my left foot. I was so pleased with the result that I had him perform bunion correction on my other foot as well. Now I am wearing shoes that I have not been able to wear for decades. All of my friends are amazed with the transformation of my feet after surgery. I am so thrilled with my new feet. Thank you so much Dr. Black!!!

I had surgery by Doctor Black and cannot say enough about his compassion and excellent medical and surgical care. I had a severe ankle fracture that required complex reconstructive surgery. I was very apprehensive about the entire experience and I have to say that the experience far exceeded my expectations. With Dr. Black's help, I was able to make a full recovery. My ankle is feeling great and I am back to playing tennis again. I am so glad I was referred to Dr. Black by my primary care physician for surgery. Anyone considering or requiring surgery should see Dr. Black!

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. He operated on an encased protrusion on my right ankle. The inside sutures didn't dissolve and had to be removed, the outside sutures were not totally removed by his assistant. I had to pull them out myself when I went home. The pain was so bad that he then put a steroid injection in that did not work. The pain continued for an entire year until I found a pain specialist that took care of it. Because of traffic, I was late 15 minutes for one visit and the check in girl/staff laughed and said you will have to make another appointment. I was in such pain that I cried. I still didn't get to see him even though there was almost no one waiting. Yet when I came the next time, I had to wait almost an entire hour to see him and again the check-in girl again laughed at me. I reported this and she continued to be rude each time I came to the office. This doctor did not know how to stop my pain. I had no pain when I first saw him, only a protrusion----when he removed it I had continual pain for an entire year. NEVER GO TO THIS DOCTOR.

I would not recommend Dr. Black. While he was very personable and compassionate while things were going smoothly, I saw a different side of his personality/decision-making when I faced complications after surgery. Dr. Black was audibly irritated with me when I called him after hours post-surgery, complaining of a fever, the most extreme pain I had ever had in my life, and my teeth chattering non-stop from chills/pain due to an obvious infection in my leg, and told me, in a very irritated, condescending tone, that I would be fine waiting 2 1/2 days later to be seen, I knew that Dr. Black was not the right doctor for me. Furthermore, when Dr. Black got visibly irritated when I asked for him to wait to remove a large metal pin from my leg until I first had pain medicine administered, and he responded, clearly irritated, that he needed to get his sister to the airport, it underscored to me that I was in the wrong hands. I have had many orthopedic surgeries due to an ankle injury, and I have never before experienced this kind of cavalier, arrogant attitude from a doctor.

I honestly would not reconmend Dr Michael Black, I feel as a proffessional he is suppose to be to his patience and not doing his job but acting towards me and quit suprise this person is a Dr in his proff\ession, Not a caring Dr when a patient comes to pay for a service and acts like a total jerk towards me. I hope no one visits this Dr i dont reconmend him a very bad Dr and I will consider changing drs cause of him.

I went to Dr.Dupay jr because my left knee that i had surgery on 4 yrs ago(surgery by a different doc)is now hurting every day not just once and a while like it use to.They took x rays said the bones look fine.but this doc was RUDE!!I Ive never walked out of a doctors office ever feeling so bad about the manner in wich that doc spoke to me.he said no need for an mri.what i told him was to non sepcific. just exercise more or he could give me a shot in the knee.Take Ibuprofin for the swelling.Maybe its just wearing down, maybe arthritis maybe im sitting a way thats causing it.I quit walking the dogs because it would make my leg hurt more but he says walk the dogs exercise.I asked him about how the more i do makes it hurt more then my ankle and foot hurt.ok .He didnt seem to like me asking him anything and made me feel like i was wasting his time.Ive never felt like this before with any other doc.So ill do what he says take ibuprofin 3x aday 600 mlgrmseach time and excersise more. When i decided to make this appointment it was because my leg was hurting so much and my family said i better take it easy on it and not damage it more.i took it easy leg hasnt been as bad but im going to do what Dr.Dupay says take ibuprphin and exercise.Hope it dosnt get worse.Although Dr Dupay was so rude!I would like to say the staff in the office was GREATThey do great wth paperwork and are very nice. But i wont be talking with mean old Dr.Dupay!!!not going there because he just makes you feel terrible and a wast of his time.for the swelling

After extensive investigative research, I chose Dr. Black to perform my very complex foot surgery (total reconstructive surgery to correct my flat feet once and for all). At first I was worried about his age, but was quickly won over by his credentials. I was having trouble deciding between a podiatrist, because of the intense, undiluted knowledge of the foot and ankle or an orthopedic surgeon who focuses on state of the art surgery techniques. Dr. Black embodies the best of both worlds. I was impressed to learn that his specialty is podiatry, but he trained under orthopedic surgeons. He had a fellowship under the doctor who invented my surgery. There are only five doctors in my home state who even attempt this surgery. I traveled 1275 miles to Florida to ensure a positive outcome and returned 5 months later to have the surgery on the other foot. I am SO glad I did. Thanks to Dr. Black I will be able to walk pain free for the first time in my life. He is absolutely the best!!!

I am a surgical ICU nurse with 35 years of experience and also a legal nurse consulting specializing in medical malpractice cases. Believe me, I know the good doctors from the bad ones. My son was in a pickup football game and had a severe ankle dislocation/fracture of his right ankle. Dr Black was on call that day and I couldn't be more grateful. This injury could have left my son limping for the rest of his life, but instead he is now playing basketball again. It took 3 hours of surgery with rods and screws, but my son's leg is whole again. Unlike most physicians, that was not the end of things. Dr Black personally called several times post op to check on my son's progress. Dr Black followed up with him even after my son left for college. I would highly recommend Dr Black as a surgeon and as a person.

When I found out that Dr. Black was going to be doing my surgery to repair my broken leg, I have to admit I was nervous at first. I had never heard of him, and he was a young doctor. I was very pleasantly surprised when he stepped into my hospital room. He thoroughly explained everything that was going to happen, not just for my surgery, but even after, and he was great with my family as well. I live about four hours from his office, and the city where my injury occurred, so I would have to travel back and forth for future appointments. As a college student, it is hard for me to work with the typical 9-4 work day of a doctor, but Dr. Black and his staff kept the office open late to ensure that I would be able to get in without missing class to make the drive down to Cape Coral. Today, almost four months out of the surgery, Dr. Black still makes periodic calls to see how I'm doing. He has great bedside manner and I highly recommend him as an orthopedic surgeon.

My fiance could not have had a better surgeon. Dr. Black not only walked us through everything that was going to happen in fixing his injury, he made sure that everything was perfect. We are college students and live about four hours away, and instead of asking us to miss class to make an appointment during his office hours, he and his staff have stayed late to make sure that we could be taken care of. I have never met a doctor who is so down to earth, and who cares so much about his patients, and makes you feel like your speaking to a friend instead of a doctor. Even to this day, almost 4 months after the initial surgery, he calls to make sure everything is going well. I would recommend Dr. Black to anyone, he truly is the best.

I have been a patient of Dr. Black's for 5 months I had an accident and ended up shattering my ankle. I had to have emergency surgery and Dr. Black explained everything to me since I have never had surgery before I was extremely nervouse. The surgery lasted longer than expected, however since I do not have any family in the area he called my Mother and Sister who live in NC when I was out of surgery this was 12:30am my Mother and Sister were very pleased to get the call to assure that I was out of surgery and doing fine, he went above and beyond to inform my family. As for his bedside manner he is great he listens to his patients and spends time with you, he is a Dr. that cares about his patients. I have recommended him to several friends.

I could not have chosen a better doctor to do the extensive surgery on my foot. He has a wonderful bedside manner, and I felt very comfortable with him. He spent a lot of time with us before the surgery, explaining the procedures. He again spent much time with us at each check-up time. I have recommended him to many people in the area that we live in during the winter months.

If you don't mind waiting over one hour for each visit, even with an empty waiting room, and then be told by Dr Black is the Best and that reading your chart would take an extra 15 minutes, and him not knowing that you had surgery and this is your thir visit, and you don't mind him suggesting a medication you have been taking for 6 years while he is still telling you he is the best, then go for it. Careful tho- his ego fills the room.
