Located in Fort Smith, Ark., the Belle Point Alternative Center is an institution that provides a variety of educational and recreational options for the social, intellectual, physical and emotional development of nearly 100 students. It offers classes in language arts, math, science, social studies, music, English, history, and health and physical education. The center has a cafeteria that serves meals. It partners with Cooper Clinic, which serves the students through numerous projects, health fairs, job shadowing, attendance incentives, mentoring, and science and technology presentations. The Belle Point Alternative Center is governed by Fort Smith Public Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools that provides academic education to more than 13,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12.
