David Duck founded Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1970, opening his first location in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Duck opened his own plumbing company, then naming himself "Mr. Rooter." After negotiations between Duck and Don Dwyer, The Dwyer Group purchased Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1989. Although Duck sold the rights to the business and original franchises, he maintained his shop location in Oklahoma City. David Duck continues to be a franchise owner today.
