Provided by YP.comNeeded service on a Refrigerator that was not cooling. Called and they were already scheduled, but the office personnel called the Technician and they made time to come out and diagnose the problem. I needed a part for the refrigerator and the technician called his office to order part right away so that the repair could take place sooner than waiting to order part the next day. Had refrigerator repaired within 2 days and have not had any other problems. Technician was very thorough and explained my problem with refrigerator. Having an explanation was helpful, pricing was not cheap but you do pay for certified technicians who know what they are doing. Will use this business again!

Provided by YP.comWOW. Absolutely appalling. Called one (trusted) company to look at our fridge that was leaking. They came right out, listed repairs needed but were out of our price range so we call the manufacturer who was able to have the repairs fixed under warranty by Cooks (their only authorized service agent in the area). Kim at Cooks was rude the first time I called to schedule the repair and then she told me I couldn't schedule it because the manufacturer had to. I called the manufacturer who then called Cooks. I was told Cooks would call be after that. I didn't hear from them so I called them a few days later and was told that they would be out on Tuesday morning (4 days away). They never showed up. I called on Tuesday afternoon and they finally said they'd be here. When John (the tech, I presume) showed up, he had a nasty attitude. He said that the company we called first didn't know what they were talking about. Then he pulled out the cover on the fridge and found out that the previous company was SPOT ON with the problems. He said we have a sealed system and didn't even believe the parts would be covered under warranty. He claimed that the manufacturer barely paid them anything to make repairs under warranties and that it wasn't even worth the work he had to do. He then claimed that he was very busy and might be able to get to our repair in about 6 weeks but he didn't know for sure because he was just that busy. Then he left. I called his office and spoke with Kim again who was extremely unprofessional (again) and told me, rather rudely, that she was on hold with my manufacturer because she didn't think the repairs were covered under warranty. She acted as though I was bothering her by calling to find out what our next step is. She told me she would call be back when she got off the phone with them. Then she hung up on me. When I didn't receive a call back from Kim
I called my manufacturer and explained everything that had happened up to that point. Turns out the repair WAS COVERED under warranty. The agent then called Kim and was promptly hung up on as soon as she asked if the repair was just too much for Cooks at this time. I will NEVER use Cooks and I will be very quit to warn anybody off of using Cooks. Terribly appalling customer service and absolutely NO professionalism at all.

Provided by YP.comShould be called Crook's Custom Service. The way Mr. Cook talks to customers is absolutely appalling, the markup he has on parts and services is more than any other business in the area, and I can 100% guarantee you that the two 5-star reviews for this business were written by personal friends of Mr. Cook as opposed to actual customers. Take a look for yourself- the way they write makes it seem like they'd be giving reviews for tons of companies but BOTH 5-star reviews have ONLY given compliments to Cook's.
I called because my refrigerator/freezer wasn't cooling (i.e not making ice, ice cream melting, food spoiling due to temperature in refrigerator being too high). The person who answered the call, Karen, was intensely rude to me while I was asking what time Cook's could be out, as I was losing food and money. They told me that sometime in the next couple of days someone would give me a call and would schedule a date with me! Beyond appalling! I scheduled a date with John (Who called me the next morning), he said he would come out, and when he did, he took a look at my refrigerator, opened both doors, sketched down something on a piece of paper, then asked for a check for $98! There's absolutely no way that he could have known EXACTLY what was wrong with my refrigerator in the 30 seconds it took to open both doors. I begrudgingly paid him the $98, but I wanted no further service from this ripoff of a business. And you really shouldn't ever have any business done with them either.

Provided by YP.comIn over 24 years, there has been one BBB complaint that is beyond exceptional. The woman's complaint presented an individual that seemed stubborn and difficult. Had she paid attention to the technician’s instructions and advice, this comment would not be necessary. Knowing from experience, the lint screen should be emptied after every load or every other load, depending on the load size (which people fail to check until their clothes will not dry). By that time, the dryer has already sucked the lint into the tubing vent, which is also a fire hazard. Having to teach my roommates on the lint removal process and its importance, they did not listen until it would not dry their clothing (I did that on purpose). I explained because they failed to empty the lint screen, the tubing is clogged and needs to be cleared. They have to pull out the dryer from the wall, disconnect the vent tubing and the exhaust vent. They learned a valuable lesson that day about the problems that arise when the lint tray is not cleaned.
The fact is the technician advised her and repeated the same on the invoice validated the company's version. In addition, the company ended up losing money on that job because the customer failed to follow the technician’s instructions. This caused another new part to be ordered, and in an effort to make the customer happy, offered her the vent trap at no cost…WOW….really. Cooks Custom Service went beyond their call of duty. She is just another person not willing to accept responsibility for her actions or lack thereof and wanted to blame anyone except herself. I can bet her lint screen needed cleaning...LOL... :-)

Provided by YP.comWe ( My mother and I) have used Cooks for over 20 years. They fixed a washing machine, fridge, and kept an air conditioning unit running for 30 years now (absolutely unheard of). They have always been respectful, quick to come when we call, and inexpensive. Most places take advantage of women, these guys are great! I can't believe they have any bad reviews, we have always been happy with their service and will continue using them for as long as we can. I have tried going elsewhere and been charged an arm and a leg and told no appointments could be made in the same day, not with Cooks! I also find it interesting that it appears the bad reviewers complain about the same person, I think all three of those bad reviews were done by the same person.

Provided by YP.comI experienced extremely poor service with an attempt to charge for work originally represented as warranty. Evidently the issues reported in years past on this website are still unresolved. There are additional, more recent reviews on Google that substantiate the record or poor service by this company. I should have checked before using.
The technician was condescending ('you should read the user manual) and generally rude. The appointment was rescheduled 3 times based on the company's convenience. When the tech finally arrived he advised that I would have to pay for the work if the warranty claim was rejected. After more than a month why this verification hadn't been done reveals the low quality work offered by this company.
I requested that he determine the warranty status of the work before he did it. While in my home and within my hearing range he called the manufacturer, said that I had misused the product and caused damage. Then he asked if they would cover it under warranty!
In the end, the problem still exists and the product remains only partially functional to prevent further damage.

Provided by YP.comRepair man, John, looked at my $3,000 refridgerator, which was under warranty, and made a list of needed repairs without even pulling it out to check it. He was rude and obnoxious. Said I would be better off replacing it with a new one. Had repairs done with another company for free (all new warranty parts). Good as new!!! Only gave 1 star because system will not accept ZERO stars!!!
