W. S. Hinton & Associates is an engineering research and consulting firm specializing in environmental controls for commercial boilers, primarily coal-fired boilers. Our services include general project management, research and development, technology selection and performance assessments, test plan development, testing oversight, data analysis, flue gas testing, specialized CEMs systems, guarantee testing, general advisory services, expert witness support, as well as many other support roles. W. S. Hinton & Associates is lead by Dr. W. Scott Hinton. He has approximately 20 years of experience related to environmental issues associated with combustion processes. Much of this experience is directly related to utility coal-fired boilers. We maintain close working relationships with many other research and testing firms, as well as research consortiums - this allows us to assemble a project team that has true expertise to address your needs. Our clients include utilities, research consortiums, public and private companies, and government entities. Major clients include Southern Company, Particulate Controls Technologies, Electric Power Research Institute, the Department of Energy, and Southern Research Institute.
