The Fort Wayne Water Maintenance & Service, a part of the Fort Wayne City Utilities, is responsible for the maintenance of the drinking water distribution system. It maintains more than 850 miles of water main, over 5,500 valves and nearly 8,000 fire hydrants. The department is operated by the City of Fort Wayne in Indiana.
