Hydra Rig NOV was established in early 1973 and is based in Fort Worth, Texas. The company was established as a manufacturer of oilfield equipment. Hydra Rig's first product line and namesake is the Hydraulic Workover System, known in the industry as a snubbing unit. This unique unit allows the workover of an oil or gas well to be performed under pressure without the use of kill fluids in the well, which could result in well damage. Hydra Rig helped to pioneer the Hydraulic Workover Rig and is one of the leading manufacturers throughout the world. Hydra Rig became part of the Varco family of companies in June of 2000 and is part of the Varco Coiled Tubing/Wireline Products Group. The company s corporate headquarters in Fort Worth employs nearly 170 people.
