Rufino Mendoza Elementary School, formerly known as Denver Avenue School, was built in 1910. It was renamed in honor of Rufino Mendoza, who was a spokesman and advocate for educational development for Hispanics in Fort Worth, Texas. Rufino Mendoza Elementary School is a part of the Fort Worth Independent School District, which is one of the largest school systems in Texas. The district has a combined enrollment of more than 79,000 students in over 130 schools. The school offers educational services to nearly 460 students in grades one through five. Located in Fort Worth, Texas, Rufino Mendoza Elementary School employs a team of guidance counselors that assists students in their educational development.
