I have been using this company for many years now as a regular customer. They have always done a great job from my slab leak to a broken water heater. I see that some of the reviews on here are AHS customers.. and well, I was a AHS customer at one time as well. What these people who are complaining don't realize is that the plumbing company is only doing what they are supposed to do via AHS guidelines and procedures. So in my case,, seeing that there wasn't any of that to deal with this company was outstanding, prompt and reasonably priced. I would recommend this company to my family and friends.. as for you AHS customers sorry for your luck.

GREAT SERVICE!

I used westside plumbing through my American Shield home warranty for the past 4 years. They are a preferred vendor through them, I have used other companies through American Shield and the service was not near as good as westside by far. They are truly great people to have at your home.

Avoid this company!!!!

This company will rip u off. If AHS wants to send this company out, say NO! The plumber came out Fri and could not find the leak but I had to pay him 75 dollar service fee per warranty comp. Plumber said he would come back Mon to keep looking for leak. Plumber did not show and did not return phone calls. The company had no record that he was supposed to come back. Called American Home Shield to complain and their records show plumber submitted a completed work order stating he fixed leak BUT he did not! Fraud! Do not use this company! They have no idea what they are doing.

Avoid this Company! They will try and rip you off. If American Home shield sends them, call AHS and ask for a different company.

My Water heater tank blew on 5/1/14. It was simple to determine that the tank ruptured near the middle (I am an Engineer). I have a home warranty with American Home Shield (AHS). So I contacted them on 5/2/14 to arrange for a repair. AHS contracted with WestSide plumbing to make a service call. Westside arrived late in the day on 5/2/14. The charged me the $125 service call that is part of my AHS contract to determine what I already knew, the tank was ruptured. They told my Wife that they will contact AHS and clear the warranty repair and let us know if there would be any further charges.

My Water heater is electric and was less than 3 years old. There was a parts warranty still active and it was a GE model made by Rheem. The water lines were Plex and again less than three years old since the house was built by us.

By the end of the day on 5/6/14 I had heard nothing from Westside Plumbing or AHS. So I called both. Westside told me that their plumber had yet to report in on the issue. That was the start of the problems. It should not take 3 days for a plumber to report back into the office to help a customer with a repair.

While I waited, I verified with AHS what my warranty covered. It covered the cost of the replacement water heater, the disposal of the old water heater, the electrical labor to remove the old and hook up the new water heater, and the plumbing labor to remove the old water lines and hook up the new water lines to the water heater. About 30 minutes later Westside called me. They told me that while their labor costs were covered by AHS there would be an additional $350 charge to hook up the Plex water lines. I told them to explain why that was necessary because AHS told me that plumbing labor was covered by their warranty. The Plumber could not give me an explanation beyond it is “Company policy” so he told me his boss would call me.

I then contacted AHS to complain. They told me that they can only go by what the plumber told them and the plumber said additional customized plumbing was required so that would not be covered by the warranty. To be clear this is literally removing two plex lines and hook them into the new water heater. There is plenty of slack in the lines. No customization was necessary and certainly not $350 worth. AHS understood that I was upset and told me I could hire my own plumber and they would reimburse me.

The next day the Westside plumber boss called me and told me the same thing, company policy is to charge $350 extra to hook up the plex water lines. I told him that I felt he was running a scam, that I would not be using him for this service, and that I wanted my $125 service call fee refunded. He said he would not refund. I then I told him I would file a BBB against his company. He wished me the best of luck with that.

I then hired a local plumber and they did the water heater replacement the same day and charged me less than $350 in labor. In addition, AHS is in the process of reimbursing me for the entire labor amount.

In addition, Westside plumbing never told AHS that the water heater was under parts warranty which means they were going to pocket the prorated refund of $255.37. I know this because AHS told me they were not aware the water heater was under warranty and GE told me that the replacement had already been approved when the plumber called them with the serial numbers.

Avoid Westside plumbing. They are attempting to Scam customers and AHS by exploiting loopholes in the AHS service contracts. I do not blame AHS. They are only going by what the plumbers tell them.
