Provided by YP.comA few months ago my husband tried to get through to the office to make an appointment and the phone was busy continuously from 10 am till 2 pm so he finally went in in person and the receptionist was reading a book with the phone off the hook. When asked why there were no answers to repeated phone calls she said everyone was on lunch break. The office manager should be reprimanded at the very least. Then a few days ago we took his elderly mom in for an examination due to a fall and pain in her chest. The doctor seemed to care less since she is 91 years old and coughed the whole time like he was sick. Finally he examined her after repeated questioning and told her to stay down and she'd get better.

Provided by YPmobileIf I could give zero stars I would. Do not rely on these people for your life! Terribly rude staff. I called in for an inhalor refill at noon time-they said they would send it into the pharmacy immediately. Four hours later I'm still waiting outside of Walgreens.. I called at least 4 times to remind them before they closed. Their hours say till 6pm, at 5 I call again and they are closed, without sending my script. The on call nurse said I should go to ER if its an emergency- well I don't have insurance so there's a 4,000 bill. These people do not have hearts! Stay far away!

Provided by YP.comI have been going to this medical practice for 11 years now and I like the doctor I have now very much. That being said, there seems to be a lack of communcation between the doctors and staff, and the doctors, staff and patients. Tests that were to have been ordered have never been done. Prescription refillls are a continuous bone of contention, even following the office's own instructions. They either say they didn't get the prescription, or an assistant will tell me she will call it in after it is already late, and then she doesn't do it, forcing me to make myself a pain by having to call the office once again. That is why at one time I had the doctor write the prescriptions out for me and post date them if necessary. It certainly saves a lot of frustration on both ends, and eliminates a person having to make repeated phone calls to the practice. Surely such intelligent people can figure out a better way to run this practice for both the providers, assistants and the patients. The way things are now is just terrible and it seems to be an ongoing problem. Please remember I mentioned at the beginning I have gone to this practice for 11 years. I understand there are lots of other patients and everyone is busy, but I expect when someone tells me they are going to do something, they will do it, or call me to explain why they ran into a problem. I don't think that is too much to ask of any professional business organization. I worked in a highly stressful job for 17 years that was much more stressful than this one and I dealt with the public every day, but not once did I say something to someone and then fail to follow through and I had more clients than this medical groups has patients. I am not any different than anyone else, so I fail to see why there is such a problem with this practice.

Provided by YP.comI love most of the doctors at HMG, but the receptionist in Ferndale is very rude, unsympathetic, unprofessional, unorganized, and enjoys more person phone calls during a work day than any of the rest of us at the expense of patient care. If I could bypass the whole front office I would continue to get care there. The part that is most unfortunate is the fact that most of the doctors and aids do care, it's the office personnel that does not. I think if the doctors knew about the way some staff members treat patients they would be disappointed just like me.
