Been tolerating a high fish loss from Tongs for 7 years due to a wider selection than most. Also bought all my dry goods from them even though they are priced way too high- But I believe in supporting local fish stores. In 7 years I have never asked for store credit for dead fish. Today I spoke with Tong about 15 Rummynose Tetras I bought from them- $45, a high price for them... 405 Fish has them healthier and CHEAPER...

Within the first 4 days 12 died... In a 5 year old, 125 gallon planted aquarium with an EXISTING school of 15 Rummynose- healthy as ever. I could not retrieve the corpses as the 500+ cherry shrimp in the tank decimate anything that dies...

I was told too bad. My loss. 7 years. Thousands and thousands of dollars later. My problem. I spoke with him face to face and checked the remaining school in their tank - ALL SICK AND COVERED WITH ICH... But still MY loss... Pathetic.

Tongs sucks. They do have the widest variety around but at a huge cost. Buyer be VERY VERY aware. I won't be buying anything from them anymore.

Tip to store owners- KNOW your clients who spend a lot and don't screw them over 30 bucks...

I have to rate this place excellent. I can't speak to their salt-water products, but in terms of fresh water, they are the only local place I have found with well cared for fish. Theirs are the only fresh water fish I have taken home and not had any die on me. Good selection. And, most importantly of all, they have a good number of fresh water shrimp, which is a fast growing hobby in the USA, borrowed from Asia. A wonderful addition to a fresh water aquarium, especially a small one, as they stay very small and do not count against your fish maximums, as long as you don't get too many.

we bought all our equipment tank sump lights the 10 dollar and 15 dollar frags are great dont know what the person is talking about dye i dont see that ,saltwater fish hobby is exspensive i like this place.

THIS LOCAL FISH STORE IS LOADED WITH ARTIFICIALLY COLORED LIVE CORAL! THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THAT THE CORAL IS DYED. THIS DYED CORAL FADES VERY QUICKLY AND IT ALSO KILLS THE LIVING ANIMAL. THEY DO THIS JUST TO MAKE A BUCK. THIS IS NOT ETHICAL. I WILL NEVER STEP A FOOT IN THAT STORE AGAIN!
