Camp Manitoqua is a Christian camp providing overnight and day camp experiences during the summer. It is located in Frankfort, Illinois and is included within the overall mission of Camp Manitoqua Retreat & Conference Center. This review primarily addresses the summer camp. My sons loved their camping experience here. The counselors are well-trained, with an excellent staff to camper ratio. There are precautions in place to protect your camper's safety and privacy. The boys enjoyed swimming in the excellent, recently redesigned pool, wandering the trails and doing fun activities. My older son came home convinced that his cabin was "wild and crazy" because their counselor led them in late night kitchen raids where they drank milk and read their Bibles. The children can receive mail and shop in an on-campus store. They participate in chapel and learn a lot about the Christian faith in a kind, supportive setting. There is a well-trained staff, with nurses on duty. One of my children wet the bed, and the nurse whisked the sheet off the mattress, washed and replaced it and no one was the wiser. I loved this camp for my children.
