My wife and I rented from Fred Fern (Fern Properties) for one year. When our lease was up, he tried to throw us out and threatened us with fancy lawyers just so he could get a new tenant locked into the property. He even went as far as to sign a new lease with the soon to be tenant while still under contract with me, even though the lease agreement clearly stated that the contract would go month to month after the initial lease was done, and getting out of month-to-month must be done by written notice, delivered no less than 30 days prior to moving. After realizing I was correct, he STILL tried to keep my deposit. Worst landlord I have ever dealt with, by a long shot. Steer clear of him and Fern Properties at all costs!
