Kentucky State University was founded in 1886 as a land grant institution, providing research and community outreach initiatives, and promoting African-American heritage. Located in Frankfort, Ky., the university offers state government student internships and a supplementary internship program for pre-law students to earn academic credits as interns in the Office of the State Attorney General. The college provides a range of degree programs in liberal studies, including business, computer science, nursing, human services and public services; and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award undergraduate and graduate degrees. Kentucky State University also offers annual workshops and seminars to state government employees at its campus. It offers men s varsity teams that include baseball, basketball, cross country, track, football, golf and tennis.
