I would never recommend this business to anyone. Their installation work has been incompetent, and the owner, Jim Watson, is unprofessional and dishonest. This has been the worst customer service experience ever for us.

Horribly run business. We had a outside chimney and interior stone fireplace and wood stove insert with wood mantel installed in July of 2012. We were told the entire job would only take 5 to 7 days. 2 months later it was finally completed. We had to constantly call them to see if they were going to show each day. When they did show up it would be between 11 and 1 and then leave at latest of 4. Can't get much work done when you don't spend many hours working. Jim Watson the owner will not answer your calls until days later if ever. Once the fireplace was completed we started our first fire and noticed that the brick lining is not the correct size on the bottom where as plug is to be inserted. Called Jim Watson and he said he would get back with us and it is now November and he has never called us back. We are going to contact the manufacturer of the fireplace insert "Excalibur" so that we can hopefully get the correct lining. The problems we had are to involved to list here but to sum it up is "DON'T USE FIREPLACE BUILDERS OF INDIANA." Go with someone else that will be upfront and honest.

We had them install a wood burning fireplace insert in the early spring of 2010.



Constantly we had to call them to make sure our order had been placed and to get an installation date. Wouldn't most companies be proactive by calling you and keeping you informed instead?



When the install date came they had to delay it because they were busy at someone else's house instead, even though we had scheduled that day for our installation.



To make amends they agreed to refund the installation cost (nearly $300) once we had our wood insert installed (which happened 2 weeks later). To this day we still haven't received any refund. The owner, Jim Watson, said he "changed his mind" later and felt that he didn't owe us anything.



Sorry, you're running a business. You can't just "change your mind" on a refund. If you said it, be a man and own up to it.



In conclusion, don't use this company or its owner, Jim Watson. Spend a little more money and go with someone else who is honest and willing to treat customers with respect. You'll save time, money and frustration if you chose to take your business elsewhere (TA Kaiser, O'Malia's Fireplace, etc.).
