Lowes sent this company to fix my washer that was under warranty. The gentleman (at the first visit) said the problem was that my washer wasn't level. He assumed this without even touching the machine at all or doing anything. I tried to explain that the washer had been there over a year in the same spot with out issues till recently, but hey, what do I know. He left and I leveled it as instructed anyhow... This was not the issue! (Second visit, same guy) he did not even know how to diagnose the machine, he was pushing the wrong buttons, so he assumed it was the control board when it didn't do what he wanted. My husband came home and ran a self diagnosis with no issue, (he repairs appliances for a garment company and knows what he's doing but voids the warranty if we fix it ourselves) so that was definitely not the problem. I asked the receptionist if she could ask the guy to come when my husband gets home at 3 so he can talk to him since he does appliance repair and our time window was 12-4 anyway, she sent him an hour earlier than his expected window and then gave us a rude attitude and nasty comments. Needless to say, we aren't having them back to install the control board they ordered or any other reason

Charles did a good job. He was on-time which was important. He had the necessary parts and was polite. We are happy with D & S Appliance Service.

HORRIBLE. NO STAR! Called them because they were recommended by the mfg. For $83 they came to the house to tell us they needed to take the appliance to the shop - eventhough they knew what the problem was. They made us carry out the appliance. No calls to tell us what was wrong despite me calling them several times. Finally got a person live on the phone who said there was no problem and they would deliver tomorrow. They show up with a $25 bill and ask my husband to carry in - he's not home. They say they will leave it in the garage. NO WAY - how do I know it is fixed? I have to carry it in and install it myself??? They go out to call the boss then leave with the appliance. WHAT???? Call that afternoon - no resolution. The next day they call to tell us they can deliver in 2 days and it will cost me $140 for them to deliver it. We are afraid that we will never see our $1000 appliance, in good working order again. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE place and people who are HORRIBLE. DO NOT CALL!!!

Days before Christmas '10, I needed the igniter replaced in my oven. I already knew what the problelm was. I called D&S to make an appt for replacement. When I was told there would be a "Diagnosis Fee" of a whopping $75 in addition to the house call charge, plus the part, I decided to call another service. I refused to hand over $75 of hard earned income (and at Christmas time!) for a fee they just pulled out of the air as a way to rake in more money. Not happening in my household, and I won't call on them again for any repairs. Kelly Appliance took good care of me. This sytem demands I give at least 1 star, but in truth- Zero stars for D&S for imposing hefty and unnecessary charges on customers.

Julie was wonderful. She was not only professional and courteous, she arranged to have the disposal unit installed earlier than scheduled. Even more important, she told me that the unit being replaced was still under warrantee (I haden't bought the disposal at D & S)and arranged to have the new unit delivered and installed at no cost to me, even though I no longer had my receipt for the original purchase and didn't know that the unit was under warantee. What a wonderful (and unusual) experience! vetrad

Disaster experience

D & S sent out a technician to fix our washing machine who had no idea how to diagnose the problem. Instead, he told us to remove the sensor that is there to detect water leaks (it's been on for a year and has been working fine) and to call him again after we had done so. We paid him $200 for that advice, and then had to pay a plumber to come out, cut a hole in our wall, and re-plumb the laundry room to remove the automatic shut-off valve. When we had them come back out, the same technician stll had no idea how to fix it. He ordered the wrong part which took a month to arrive, while my wife went crazy going to the laundromat every day. Frustrated, we called a different company to come look at our washer. The new company ran a simple diagnostic program, immediately identified the problem, and ordered the correct part which he installed 2 days later. A coin had simply gotten stuck in one of the drainage pumps! Now that it's fixed, I still have to pay a plumber to come back out to reinstall the leak sensor, and I need to have the wall repaired. D & S cost me about $1000 in unnecessary expenses, and now won't stand behind their work. I have gone to the highest level of the company (Sam, the owner) to no avail. I could have just bought a new washer.

Great company, have been doing business with them for years, they have gone though a few technicians but always seem to know what they are doing. Fair pricing and quick response

They came to fix our dishwasher. They damaged the kitchen cabinet and broke our dishwasher control panel. They ended fixing the control panel but never reimbursed for cabinet repair. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
