Occupational Therapy in pediatrics focuses on the "occupations" or "jobs" of childhood such as play, socialization, self-care, and school performance. Our Occupational Therapists help children develop the skills needed for functional independence. Pediatric Physical Therapy is concerned with helping children of all ages become as independent and fit as possible with respect to strength, endurance, balance, coordination, and mobility across all environments - including home, community, school. Speech and Language Therapy focuses on a child's ability to communicate;from simple gestures and one to two word utterances to more complex skills such as those necessary to sustain a conversation, to engage in social situations, or to read and respond. Neurologic Music Therapy is the therapeutic application of music to cognitive, sensory, and motor dysfunctions. It is based on neuroscience research and utilizes standardize d techniques that are targeted at a specific brain function.
