Governor Thomas Johnson Middle School, established in 2000, is a national Blue Ribbon school that has a total enrollment of more than 645 students in sixth through eighth grades. It is a part of Frederick County Public Schools, which operates over 60 schools and serves nearly 39,600 students. Governor Thomas Johnson Middle School supports various programs, including MATHCOUNTS, reading rally and powerful pens. The school maintains the Student Government Association and parent-teacher-student association. It also operates ski, yearbook, science, reading, math, homework, technology and chess clubs.
