Never call Elm AC Corp. unless you accept rudeness, being taken advantage of & incompetence. Had problem with AC suction line freezing. On a Sat., Elm sent young inexperienced technician. Told me I needed a new thermal expansion valve (TXV). Said he would talk to his boss on Mon., Scott, about repairs. No one ever called me back on Mon. On Wed. afternoon, finally got Scott who was arrogant when I asked for another technician to evaluate problem. Told him I was not satisfied with the first technician's decision. I was right. I had paid Elm $130 & I was going to be charged another $500 for TXV. That would have been acceptable to me if that solved problem. But, it would have not. Called another AC company, afterwards. All I needed was to have the AC coils cleaned, no parts required. Elm never even looked at coils. AC now works like new. Elm apparently likes to charge for unnecessary parts & labor. Wrote letter asking for my money back for a misdiagnosis. Never heard back from Scott.

extortion like operation

I can't believe these people are still in business. They sent a guy to look, he didn't fix anything, they called with a quote to fix the ac, but it was $1000 more than another company! They still want us to pay $124 for absolutely nothing! This would have been ok if we were informed of the charges in advance, but the repair man told me as he left. The rude customer service agent had the nerve to tell me I should have known because they did work 10 years ago, and that was for a completed project! Unacceptable business practice, borderline extortion.

Terrible terrible terrible!

Don't use them. Their general manager Bill is losing new business for the company because he doesn't know how to deal with customers. I tried giving zero stars but I have to fill something in.

I completely agree with the 2 previous reviews. This company is lousy in their service as well as their customer service. My mother had a routine service call to have air-conditioning unit inspected. The guy doing the work busted a pipe in the attic while inspecting the unit. When she went to turn on the AC, she experienced water coming from the attic into her living room. She called them back and the next technician couldn't find the leak and proceeded to pour bottles and bottles of water on the attic floor which caused a tremendous amount of more damage to her ceiling. They then found the pipe busted and fixed it, but they are refusing to have the ceiling fixed. She had the AC on for days and days prior to there arrival without any problems this summer, but as soon as they left, the water starting pouring in. It is clear they caused this problem with the broken pipe. Nobody else was in the attic. They refused to discuss the issue and only responded to my mother after she sent a certified letter to them where they were forced to acknowledge her. They were very rude on the phone when i spoke with them again today. In particular a guy named Bill. He advise you to stay away from this company. Their technicians are careless and clueless and their mgmt is rude, obnoxious, and don't take ownership for their mistakes. I wouldn't even give them one star. It should be a negative 10.

This company installed my original AC system in the mid-1980's. They were great. I understand the company has since been sold. It is now very poorly operated, and staffed by incompetent technicians who do horrible work while they cause damage to your home and equipment. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for an air conditioning contractor, or ask Elm for some (many) customer recommendations. My guess is that they will be very hard pressed to accommodate your request.
