A poor ballet school. Teacher/Student ratio is very high. I've seen one teacher having 20 students at the same time. Angela only goes after money. She charges a flat tuition on a monthly basis, instead of on a per-class basis. This is not fair, because sometimes there are only 3 Saturdays per month. She also uses class time doing non-ballet related activities, such as measuring body sizes, exchanging goody bags, taking X'mas pictures, etc. This is not fair for parents who pay tuitions for practicing ballet, not for exchanging goody bags. She charges unreasonable dollars for recital fees (e.g. $80 for 2 tickets and a DVD), and collects the payment for recitals 6 months ahead of time without explaining why ordering recital dresses could take 6 months. To me, it is just her way of ensuring that her students will stay in her school for at least the next 6 months. To me, she just cares about money. Her bedside manner is terrible and unfriendly. Definitely think twice before you sign up with Angela Van school of ballet.
