I got a referal to this dentist from 1-800-dentist, comments about that service at the end.



I went in for an annual check up. Getting an appoint was challenging because their computer system was down for more than a week (I guess they don't know how to use an old fashion appointment book). When I got there they were very nice.



Once in the chair they took xrays (digial so quick and easy) then the dentist did the exam. She made lots of disparaging remarks about how bad it was i.e. loss of bone, severe gum issues and I might lose teeth. They sent me out to the front desk where I got the sales pitch.



They wouldn't do a regular cleaning which would be covered by my insurance, I needed a deep cleaning not covered by my insurance but they will give me a deal. And I need this antibiotic treatment on 20 of my teeth, again not covered and again they will give me a deal. So $1800 out of pocket first off. Then I needed a couple of fillings that would be covered and a replacement crown that would not be covered, The crown was not compromised but a piece of the porcelain coating was chipped off (cosmetic). I told them it was too much money and I had to think about it. They said no worries we can sign you up for a credit card, no interest for 12 months. I have a credit card but I go apply to see what it looks like. I am approved and then I read the print on the interest. 12 months no interest, after that 26%. As I am filling out the credit card application online in another room I hear the office manager giving the exact same pitch to two other patients (they need deep cleanings, will get a deal) . I left feeling like the whole process was a scam. When I got home I looked at reviews on yelp and google (which I should have done before going in but I figured the referal from 1-800-dentist was legit. This office has horrible reviews on both, complaint after complaint about my exact experience. So I decide to go to another dentist, one that has great reviews on yelp and google. They want my xrays (which are already paid for by my insurance). I called Brookvale, I have to come sign a release. I am ok with that but I have to pay them $35 for them to email my digital xrays to the other dental office.



So my advice stay away from Brookdale,



WRT 1-800-DENTIST: They sent me an email asking me to review the dentist they recommended. I clicked on the link, wrote my review and attempted to submit it but got an message in red that my review could not be added at this time. At that point I noticed that Brookvale had been in the 1-800-DENTIST system for 3 years and had zero reviews. I called1-800-DENTIST, told them I could not submit a review and was given another number to call which I did. I told them I could not post a review. They attempted to convince me that the review had been submitted but would be moderated first. I explained that it was clear the review had not been accepted at all. They gave me another number to call and warned me I would get a voice mail message but to leave my name and number.



So more advice stay away from 1-800-DENTIST

This is a "chain" type practice. I've been going here 6 years (unfortunately one of the "better" practices that will take my DMO plan, others are even worse), and had 4 doctors. It's very hit or miss. The reason for the turnover is that doctors are new or just moved to the area and will move on to better practices as soon as they can. A BIG indicator of mediocrity is that they will insist on polishing my teeth BEFORE cleaning them, because it saves time until the doctor is ready to clean my teeth. My best friend (a dentist in MD) says this is a joke! Anyone who does this, is NOT a quality dentist. In the years I've been going there, I insist on doing it in the proper order, but I will be changing my dental plan so that I can go to a real dentist from now on.

I would not recommend this dental service. The front desk told me a consultation is free but on the day of the appointment they retracted their words and said that I need to pay $75 for the consulation. I told them that I was surprised about it and I would like to cancel the appointment. They then told me that cancellation is $150. I would definitely not go back this facility

I had no problems here with my...

I had no problems here with my DeltaCare insurance. They took good care of me and were very polite/friendly. 5 stars for everything.

If you read the first review they said this clinic used to be exceptional. I think they might have changed some dentists around and the service went down for a while.



Whatever the reason they seem to be doing just as well as they were before. The service is decent and they are welcoming from the moment you walk in to the moment you're done.

Actually one star is too good ...

Actually one star is too good to give to rate this office. I made an appointment for regular cleaning of my teeth. My first complaint was why is the girl snapping 27 shots of xray for a full mouth. My head have been zapped 27x for an xray per my visit. Then The dentist came in sort of a heavy set Asian guy forgot he's name. But he said I had 4 cavities and refuse to give me regular cleaning because of the caviites he said.



So, I have left and did not agree with their cost for the deep cleaning and fillings. They refuse to accept my insuranse or discount me with my insurance, They wanted me to pay $1700 full price to fill my cavities and deep cleaning. I went home and checked w/my insurance and they said dep cleaning was covered.



By the way he was hard on my mouth and I left home very painful with out a procedure done. His hands checking my mouth with a medal and it seems he wanted to loosen a tooth by pressing the sharp medal down the wisdom tooth. I felt my wisdom tooth pop out a bit or he was tring to cause a cavitie or make things worst for my mouth.



I made an appointment with another dental office and I took exams and she did regular cleaning with no problem at all and surprisingly I did not have any cavities as the dentist at Brookvale was saying ( He was Lying)

It was just plaque that was removed during my regular cleaning and the new dentist said I had no cavities and sure enough my teeth were clean and Bright.



I think they were trying to sucker me of more money, to try to get me to pay for deep cleaning and cavities that were never there!

My family has been going to this dental practice for years. For many of those years the service there was exceptional. The front office staff was friendly and responsive, they had great customer service. However, over the past couple of years, they have been loosing personnel and quality. We have had numerous appointments, where we show up on time but they are running one to two hours behind! When you get off work early to make it to the dentist on time and are then told to wait two hours, even though you called before going in to make sure that they are on schedule that is a bit ridiculous. The front office staff leaves something to be desired, they are rude and unhelpful. Oh yes, and if you do schedule an appointment and they give you an appointment card, make sure you call before actually going in, because chances are they didn���t actually schedule the appointment like they said they would. All three of us are done; we are taking our business elsewhere.
