In the early 1950’s, nestled in between the eucalyptus trees and rich farmlands of what is now Fremont, there came to be a friendly little place where local farmers and their families could meet and share their stories. They told about their families coming from the East and crossing the vast plains and towering Rocky Mountains. They shared lessons they had learned about growing abundant crops of corn and grain for which the area was known. Over the years, this unique hideaway became known for it’s splendid food and even an occasional drop or two of cider. It also became known as the town meeting place, where one could listen to the “Old Timers” tell many stories about life in the Old West, Gold and Silver Mining in the Sierras, to the Wild and Wooly days on the Docks of San Francisco. Since what is now Warm Springs Boulevard used to be the primary route between San Francisco and Santa Cruz, many out of town visitors made this a favorite rest stop during their journeys. In the early 1950’s, nestled in between the eucalyptus trees and rich farmlands of what is now Fremont, there came to be a friendly little place where local farmers and their families could meet and share their stories. Great Service

This is one of my favorite places. The personal attention we get from the waiters and even the owner and his wife is awesome. I feel very welcomed every time I go there. The food is delicious and the prices I find are very reasonable for the quality we are getting. So reasonable that for the last 5 years I've had my companies end of the year parties there. Everyone loves it! I would definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner but also just recently I tried their breakfast and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. Large portions and very reasonably priced too.

Why go to the city when the heart of SF is so close to home

My husband & I like to head over to Saki's Spin A Yarn for a cocktail, a great meal and music to dance to on a Friday or Sat night. My husband is a huge meat lover and he especially loves Saki's rib eye steak and rack of lamb. I must admit it's pretty good ( I rarely eat red meat) I love the fish. There is always a few choices and they will prepare it anyway I want with a choice of different sauces. The chicken Marsala is to die for & the portions are huge. They also have some of the best appetizers anywhere, the Mexican prawns and calamari are incredibly delicious & a favorite. I usually don't have desert but have tried a few & his Baklava is pretty awesome it's served warm with a caramel sauce. We are always greeted happily by Saki' himself, his lovely wife or his long time hostess Mary. Aside from the many wonderful dishes there we have attend countless party's, receptions, baby/bridal showers, New Years Eve (4) and many of the fun events that they have going on. We have never experienced a bad meal or service and if we had I can't imagine Saki' not caring about that. We have sent many friends to dine there and Saki's has always made them, feel welcome. If you let Saki know it's your fist time he will usually send over a free appetizer. The Spin as we call it has become a favorite place to go together or with friends and have a great meal, dance or just listen to some good music, all of that so close to home.

Beautiful Obeisance 5 Star

I planned a 50th Birthday Party at the SPIN A YARN. 92 person Invitation.

Working with Saki the owner, Jenifer who is his lovely wife was a delightful experience.

They were so engaging in their efforts to make my Party flow beautifully without any effort on my part, So that I could relax and enjoy the party.

The decor is beautifully decorated in a Mediterranean elegant design. Nestled in the the Warm Springs Dist. of Fremont between 680 and 880. easy access.

Appetizers, salad, main course and dessert was absolutely outstanding in flavor, presentation and portion size. All the food was served to each table organized and the staff was friendly and the showmanship of true professionalism.

Throughout the evening, several of my guests mentioned of the wonderful experience they had at the SPIN A YARN. From that they went on to book Bridal Shower luncheons, Baby Shower Luncheons, and many have gone back in on a regular basis to enjoy an evening in the lounge/bar area for music, and dining. No need to go the City when you have the SPIN A YARN.

Sub-standard

This place is too expensive, the food arrives cold and late and nobody seems to give a damn.

Spin A Yarn

It was our first visit on New Years Eve 2007. While thefood was prepared properly everthing that came from the kitchen was cold. The owner could care less he had enough reservastions to make a profit and it was serve them and get them out the door. When we asked to see him regarding the substandard meal his response was you could have sent it back, and left. At $75.00 a plate this place is a real rip off, I have lived in Fremont for 25 years and this the first and last time we will ever dine there. For $300.00 for two you should get a wonderful meal but not at Spin-A-Yarn.
