Provided by YP.comMy grandmother was recently evicted from this facility- illegally, according to her ombudsman. The owner, Justin, has been nothing but rude to our family when we tried to find out more details, and receive help in relocating her. We were told that it wasn't their problem. He said that the facility was going to be all assisted living, so my grandmother had to be out by the end of the month. Talking to other staff and residents revealed that this was a blatant lie- none of them were being evicted.
My grandmother entered the nursing facility when she still had money, and was put into a private room. Colonial Poplin took tens of thousands of dollars of her money, but once she was on Medicaid, they moved her to a new room, and subsequently evicted her.
While the nurses and staff that I have interacted with have been very pleasant, and my grandmother was never abused or neglected, that we can tell, the owners and the woman who is supposed to assist with the Medicaid application process have been awful. I would not recommend that anybody send their family here unless they have the money to pay the thousands of dollars a month out of pocket to be treated fairly.
In response to the eviction review, I would offer that anyone who wishes to speak with the NH Long Term Care Ombudsman as to the accuracy of this allegation call 603.271.6941. What the reviewer fails to mention is that Colonial Poplin is decertifying long term care beds in order to certify them under HEP 805 regulations also known as supported residential care. It is truly unfortunate that our own State and Federal governments can not apply the attention and funding that is needed for appropriate healthcare, let alone long term care. Lastly, this particular resident was not singled out as our list is comprised of several individuals who received the same 30 discharge/ transfer notice and all for the exact same reason. This had nothing to do with private funds or Medicaid approvals as this had everything to do with the Government's inability to manage an effective and properly funded healthcare system. As all reviews are based out of personal experience and opinion, it is unfortunate this reviewer had a poor experience and we wish the former resident and her entire family well as we are truly sorry that this path had to be taken. ~Justin

Provided by YPmobileColonial Poplin is one of NHs last family owned homes still in operation. Boasting the highest credentials, all staff is in house and the care is excellent whether nursing, therapy, residential services, dietary and housekeeping. The cafe is phemonenal and one is sure to be welcomed by staff and residents alike. We welcome you to come tour our home whether the need for a long term, short term or rehabilitative stay. We are confident your expectations will be met and exceded... despite the former employee's review from January! Our staff is professional, courteous and ensure the highest quality services are provided seven days a week. Feel free to call any time or stop by. 603.895.3136. 'Justin

Provided by YP.comI don't know much at all about the treatment this place provides to their patients. I do know that the director of residential services is not a happy camper. Jennifer Dononvan's face would probably crack if she tried to smile. She is soooo stuck up and her interview questions were more like an interrogation. Not the type of person who tries to make you feel comfortable in any way. So, you decide if that's the type of place you want your family memebers to spend their days at. Maybe they will receive awesome care and never have to see her but I'd find out first if I were you!

Provided by YP.comI work at colonial poplin. I have worked their for around 10 months. I have to say I love it here. My co workers are great, the staff is absolutley great. Such good people there. The owners have an open door policy and live close. From the menu to the residents, It's a great place from my last job. I hope to stay there for a while.

Provided by YP.comColonial Poplin is wonderful. My grandmother received wonderful care here. The staff take very good care of the residents, and the place feels like home. I never felt rushed when I visited. They have a cafe so you can eat with a resident there. My grandmother never complained, There was no "nursing home" smell here either. It would be nice if more nursing homes were like Colonial Poplin.

Provided by YP.comMy Aunt was in Colonial Poplin at a young age following a life altering surgery which was secondary to an unexpected condition and was there for rehab for quite a long time. My Aunt loved the facility and so didnt her family who was there all the time, the owners and the staff gave remarkable care. Nursing and therapy were supportive and educational to both patient and family. Everyone went above and beyond to treat us as though we were family. I would reccomend this facility to family or stranger, I personally would'nt go anywhere else.

Provided by YP.comThis place is a trainwreck! My dad went there as a last resort and it was nothing but awful and nothing like their reviews. He said he observed a nurse actually hitting his roommate and then threatening the same roommate the next night...poor guy was just senile:( The nurses were not honest about what happened during the night time...my dad is totally with it but has a week heart...my dad said the nurses were just completely mean and he's not a complainer! We removed my dad within days of him being there because it broke my heart about the conditions.
THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!
Here is a perfect example of one who wants to scorn the nursing home industry. I am one of the owners of Colonial Poplin and its reviewers such as this who pretend they know all there is and are willing to defame a facility where possible. Colonial Poplin is a CMS 5 Star Facility with a phenomenal reputation with the New Hampshire Long Term Care Ombudsmans Office and the Survey team. The owners are on premise and live within two stone throws. If the reviewer reads this, email me at [email protected] and discuss your reserves with an owner who goes above and beyond what any other Facility will do in a corporate atmosphere. Also, if the care was that horrendous and you beleive in your words... why did you let your complaints fester??? Did you allow resident abuse to take place and not report it??? We welcome all to our home... come enjoy our cafe and experience the true art of long term care. Family owned and operated, Colonial Poplin sets the bar of excellence. Sorry there is an individual who chose to toss out non substantiated words and never approached either owner... perhaps because they were never there! ~Justin Philbrick, Vice President
