Provided by YP.comI was months away from competing for my black belt when my wife and I found out we were expecting a child and moving to the Queens, New York area. The baby, a boy was a healthy seven pounder and during one of our sleepless nights, I happened to find an ad for Progressive Martial Arts. I joined and will work toward that belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu when I am back in shape. My wife is also talking about working on her fitness down here as well. Andrew Peters

Provided by YP.comWhen I was a fitness model, I was not allowed to do anything that could cause injury. I was stuck doing the boring stuff, stuff I hated, I made add just to keep my fitness level up and my body toned and tight. When I retired, I went straight to Progressive Martial Arts and signed up for kickboxing classes. Since then, I have taken other MMA classes and have found my inner drive is higher now than when I was modeling. It's easier to work for fitness when you are doing it for yourself rather than for just the camera.

Provided by YP.comIn life, there are two choices: you can listen to other people and wonder what you could have done or you can listen to yourself and find out exactly what you can do. I started taking a kickboxing class at Progressive Martial Arts not because it was the cool or fashionable thing to do but because it is what I wanted to do. Fitness has always been a secondary thought to me, but now that I am older, I need to really take better care of me. I have limped home. I have soaked in the tub after a grueling class. I wouldn't change a single thing! I simply love my kickboxing classes at PMA, Queens.

Provided by YP.comI am going to win a MMA title. I can say that with confidence because I am sure of myself and my abilities. I am sure of my training that I have been receiving at Progressive Martial Arts not only in MMA but in BJJ and JKD as well. The instructors and the facilities are superb. Check them out and you'll know what I'm talking about. When I win my title, I will bring a picture down to hang in the lobby, but for now, I am working, sweating and training. Provided by YP.comMy son was on his way to becoming a bully when someone told me about the kids martial arts classes in Queens. I signed him up straight away and I couldn't be happier. The classes aren't just about physical defensive skills. The instructors also instill a sense of discipline, goal setting, leadership, confidence and self-esteem in their students. And most importantly, they demand respect for the student and other people. My son has definitely changed for the better. If you're worried about your child's behavior, get them into martial arts now. You'll be glad you did.

Provided by YP.comI had never heard of Kali before, so I wasn??メt sure if it was going to be right for me. Progressive Martial Arts lets you take a class or many classes for 30 days without charging you, so I found out that it is tough and intense but if you hang in there, you can do it. I am working hard and will keep on working hard. It??メs 2 months now, and I love that I signed up for these classes. Try out Progressive Martial Arts and you??メll see how their variety of mixed martial arts classes can work wonders for your body, mind and spirit.

Provided by YP.comDo you know when you are really training hard, especially in MMA? It is when you think you have reached the end of what you have and then you take a deep breath and dig deeper than you ever have before and really go for it. It doesn't matter if it is BJJ or Muay Thai or whatever- you are punching and kicking and sweating and you can hear your own heart beating in your ear and every muscle in your body is saying stop, but you go for it. That is when you are training hard.

Provided by YP.comThank you, Progressive Martial Arts for teaching my son to be strong and proud of himself. He has always been the smallest one in his class, so that means that occasionally he is picked on. He took a class at another gym but there was nothing but some halfhearted punches and kicks with no real instruction or guidance. The kids there were horrible and picked on him once again. He did agree to come to classes here and even after that very first one, he was ready to come back. He has learned how to defend himself but how to carry himself so that he no longer needed to.

Provided by YPmobileThere are not many places that teach you real MMA- they show you a few watered down techniques or offer you a fitness style kickboxing class that is nothing more than a bunch of dancing around with a few kicks tossed in. That was not what I wanted or needed. Progressive Martial Arts has been far different because everything I have learned and will keep on learning is real and nothing but real. I signed up for the Total Defense classes and was amazed to find a structured system that worked in phases. This is exactly what I wanted and was looking for such a long time. Check out PMA in Queens and you'll know what I'm talking about! Keith Mitchell

Provided by YPmobileI just could not get my wrestling team to take it to the next level. I seen potential in these kids but they could not see it in themselves for some reason. I wanted them to really let loose and be everything they could. A few of them came back after a school break with more intensity, more drive and more skills. They had been going to Progressive Martial Arts. I checked out the programs and found out that not only were there kids programs but adult programs in BJJ, kickboxing and even grappling techniques. Plus, there was a 30 day free trial. I suggested it to the rest of my team and hoped that they would follow the lead.

Provided by YPmobileWhat does an aerobics instructor do on her day off? She comes to Progressive Martial Arts and works her tail off with kickboxing classes and trains in mixed martial arts. That keeps me fit and strong but also gives me the work that I need to be able to lead my classes. Yep, I leave my job at a fancy gym and I come here to work. Being in the fitness field, I know what is quality and dedication and for sure at PMA in Queens, everything is outstanding, that's why I keep coming back for more! K.L. (don't tell my boss!)

Provided by YPmobileI am glad that I am bringing my kids to Progressive Martial Arts for the kids classes. They were having some problems in school, unfocused and really unmotivated, but now, they are doing well once again. They don't just teach these kids to punch and to kick in these classes. They teach them about being polite and respectful as well, the things that really matter in this world. I strongly recommend PMA in Queens for your kids, especially if you're having a hard time getting them to do anything. They might rebel at the thought of taking up mixed martial arts, but once they get involved, they'll be hooked. Try it!

Provided by YP.comOne day, I caught my son on the street corner, smoking a cigarette and drinking a can of beer with a group of boys much older than him. He said that they made him do it and I believed him. Two days later, I caught him with those boys again, and the filth that was pouring from all of their mouths was making me sick to my stomach. I dragged my boy away from those others, ignoring the foul words they were shouting. I shoved him in the door at Progressive Martial Arts and told him for the 30 day free trial, he would be there training. At the end, he could agree to keep learning MMA or kickboxing or whatever or he could go back to the thugs and hoods on the street. He is a smart boy and every time he gets a new belt, I will be able to tell him that once again.

Provided by YP.comMy daughter, Alison started at Progressive Martial Arts when she was in the junior classes. She has continued to step up her training and it shows in the way she carries herself and in her actions at home and at school. She is graduating out of the teen programs into the adult programs and has talked of becoming a fitness model and instructor. She has always said that the training she got her was more than just exercise and I believe it.

Provided by YP.comI have twin boys. My wife and I have been pulling our hair out trying to get these kids into a preschool program because they are just wired all of the time. They are really starting to have some major behavior problems and blew one preschool interview already. After one particularly nightmarish day, my wife announced that my kids were just enrolled in the Little Dragons program at Progressive Martial Arts. They are going to learn how to control their energy in a better way. Thanks!

Provided by YP.comI am glad that there are so many age specific classes at Progressiv!e Martial Arts. I have four kids, all in different age groups. I could drive all over New York, taking them here and there for their activities and sports, or I can drive them here to Queens and allow them to take their classes. I have one Little Dragon (age 4), two in Juniors (twin 9 year olds) and a teen who is 14. I may even start working on my own fitness as well.

Provided by YP.comcollege and became a teacher. When I was younger, I started doing martial arts because my mom wanted me to do something active. Now, I have been told that I can combine my love for teaching with my love for martial arts. I may learn how to do just that, but for now I am a member of the Swat team at Progressive Martial Arts School. That means that I help with the classes and get to use my skills as a teacher to help others.

Provided by YP.comMy entire family has been going to Progressive Martial Arts and when I say entire family, I mean all of us! My husband and I have been going for years as well as my sister and her new husband and one brother in law. My mom just started her 30 day free trial period, and the first of my kids is just now old enough for the preschool program. We love coming down here together, working out in our various programs and then leaving as a family. The Wilson Family

Provided by YP.comWe were looking for something for our little ones to do during the day and found the Little Dragons class at Progressive Martial Arts. Now, Jeremy and Jordan look forward to their class days so much that they have our angst filled teen considering joining the teen program as well. He signed up for the 30 day free trial and thought he would just check out a couple of days. It's been 3 months now, and he's completely hooked. He's learning so many great skills, and new friends. It's wonderful to see the positive change in him. If you have kids, check out PMA in Queens

Provided by YP.comWhat started as a 30 day free trial has quickly turned into a lifestyle choice for me. I am working on a new belt level in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu now, and I can't believe how much my body and my outlook on life have changed. It is not about the way I look; it is about my fitness level. Wonderful instructors that genuinely care about your progress and are committed to getting the best out of you! Check out - Progressive Martial Arts, you won't be disappointed.
