Rio Vista Middle School is a part of the Central Unified School District, which has a total enrollment of more than 13,500 students in over 15 educational institutions. The school provides academic programs to nearly 1,200 students in grades seven and eight. Rio Vista Middle School provides coaching and training in a variety of athletic activities, such as baseball, soccer, cross country, cheerleading, tennis, water polo, wrestling, softball, football, volleyball, basketball, and track and field. The school maintains a library medi center that houses a collection of approximately 10,000 books and supports various databases for the accelerated reader program.
