We arrived on our first date night in a year only to be told that they mistakenly put our reservation in for tomorrow. They said there was nothing they could do and "our hands are tied." Wow, we booked a babysitter and drove 45 minutes one-way for absolutely nothing. Terrible customer service! Guess we're headed to Cracked Pepper Bistro! Will never try Lela'so because of this.

The pork chop amazing! The meat is exquisite! If you go you have to get a deconstructed drumstick for dessert!! Perfect blend sweet and salty and tasted very much like one. We just loved the food!!!!

I rate my worst restaurant experiences by the poor service. Last night Lela's was a shining example of the epitome of bad service. I don't think I've ever gotten up and left a restaurant -- and last night I couldn't wait to get out of there. The funny thing was, I was in there last Saturday night with my boyfriends family (frequent patron's of yours and friends of the owners) and the service, while not perfect, was much better. One would think, that being the only party in the restaurant, more attention could be given to the one table coming in to dine in your establishment. At having to get up to ask if we could order the wine and get up yet again to ask if we could order only to learn your very insolent waiter Randy was too busy to attend us, I couldn't even begin to fathom the words for the amount of disrespect and uncouth sentiment that began to overwhelm. While the food at Lela's may be great, it easily just made it to a list of restaurants I and the women in that restaurant will never visit again. (One of whom, also a Fresno chef - and all of the ladies last night very well connected and established in this town whom I can just see spreading the news of the "fabulous" service.)



You know, I came back to the kitchen to tell a dear friend of mine that as much as I loved his restaurants food the service was just that terrible and we were about ready to bail - hoping Lela's could redeem itself and we could stay and enjoy a nice meal. However, when I saw the ever-so-busy Randy just hanging out and chatting in the kitchen, I too was pretty upset and disturbed at just how terrible the evenings service had become. I highly suggest Lela's change it's mannerisms in customer service if it expects to become a Fresno establishment. Most restaurants around here make it by reputation. And while we might just seem like one party of 6 women and nothing you should fret about, you should care enough about all your patrons to make your service the talk of the town, in good light - not in the negative light it's getting out of the six mouths of the ladies who attempted to dine their last night.
