Provided by YP.comThis was the most humiliating experience. I have never felt so discriminated against in my life! I made an appointment for 4:30 pm. At 4:10 I was driving to the salon when I get a call saying they had to move my appointment to 5:00. I arrived at 4:55 pm yet still waited 30 more minutes. At 5:25 pm I asked the receptionist how much longer and she said soon. I waited another 15 minutes. Once the hairdresser, Tiffany Makredes, finally met with me, she looked me up and down with a arrogant attitude, pausing to stare at my un-dyed roots. My hairdresser of 16 years, passed away over 2 months ago and shock and sadness at his sudden death had prevented me from looking for a new hairdresser. He was a beautiful soul that made every client feel like family. I could immediately tell that she thought I did not fit her profile of acceptable clients. She did not think I belonged in her fancy salon and she assumed I could not afford her fee. She was sorely mistaken. I am a mother of 4 and I run a small business. My husband and I have a net worth of over 7 million dollars. We live in a 2.5 million dollar (paid off) home. She asked how I colored my hair I told her and she said," Well it seems to be working for you so just keep doing that" What? So then I told her I was considering a Brazilian Blowout and she said, " I need to refer you out I do not do that treatment, it stings my eyes." So I continued trying to get some kind of service after waiting so long. I asked about a haircut and she asked, "Who was cutting your hair before"? I told her, holding back tears "Arnold Gomez" and she acknowledged that she knew of his death and said "His brother works here, go to him, I am sure he would take someone that knew his brother as a client." And with that she pulled me off the chair and said "I will have him call you, bye." I have never been treated with such prejudice. She looked at my modest appearance and "Wiry hair", her words, and assumed I could not afford her services and was not going to give me, the time of day. Her uppity attitude was unbelievable, a hairdresser? She obviously never learned the age old lesson, "You can't judge a book by it's cover."
She only wants to style hair for clients that fit her discriminatory profile.
