Provided by YP.comI tried to work with both Lodi and Fresno, as these are the two branches closest to our location. Both branches of this factory direct company, are franchised, owned by one man who owns 40 something of the 80 +dealerships that Interstate trailers has nation wide.
We found both branches really talk up or believe in their product but tack on what they call a "Convenience Fee" this is them charging you for doing the paperwork they get paid to do by buying the trailer from them or they mark up 700+ dollars from where it is advertised and then take off $821 dollars and wow are they saving you a lot of money.
James Taylor from Lodi (On Vin #4RACS1223FK053975) advertised this trailer for $5139.00, estimate sent to me showed it for $5440.00 discounted (HAHA) for $301 bringing it to $5139 and then added 3 of these so called convince fees to our bill, 2 under that label and one under a negotiation fee, when I asked it was for doing paperwork. 3 charges for the same thing. They wanted to charge me for mechanic time of 30 min for something that would take about 5 min, so if they have a min why then do they charge a separate who fee. I am being charged 2 for another bill. You cannot discount something $301.00 and then add back in $309.00 to fill out paperwork your already being paid to do and say you discounted anything.
Russell Taylor from Fresno talked it up and told me they were going to give me almost $900 off. The trailer listed for $5309.00 (Vin number 4RACS1226EK052317) on the lot, when emailed to me invoice is now $ 6030.00, discounted to $5209.00, Im sorry but that is not a $821.00 discount that is knocking $100 off, call it what it is and stop with the stupid behavior.
What is the matter with these people, they do not deal honestly with others!!!!
They are aggressive in sales and become combative if you question something or the price. I am a business owner and been in business for over 20 years, I did not find either location to be professional or really listen to us. I felt like I was dealing with used car salesman, this is the best analogy I can think of, both in their behavior and mannerisms.
I asked for a trailer to be OTD for the listed price from both locations, they just kept on how much better and cheeper they are, they have a business to run, we pass the discounts off to our customers, the only problem multiple other trailer companies are at or less than them, usually at several hundred dollars.
The only difference they could come up with is the quality of the walk in door and what the weld looks like. So if they are charging what everyone else is charging or I found them to be more money, asking for $500 off is not a problem, if they are factory direct then they have higher profit margins because they are not paying a dealer.
Maybe not all of the Interstate dealers are this way but these two I found to be completely incompetent!!
Anyone who would like a print out of the bill along with a print out of the advertised trailer, please reply with contact, I will be happy to send to you, avoid these dealerships.
