Based in Colorado, our main focus is providing valuation and consulting services for resort and hospitality properties in a wide range of resort areas. Our broad experience includes appraisal and consulting for virtually all resort property types and hotels. The firm was founded in 1992 by John Wilhelms, MAI and he remains the primary principal. He participates in all aspects of the work rather than relying on lesser experienced staff and will also collaborate with equally qualified associates for certain geographical areas and property types. A major asset for us is the geographic diversity of our practice, which allows us to monitor and understand trends in a wide range of areas. We have done extensive work in the resort areas of Colorado as well as in numerous other mountain and warm weather resort locations throughout the US and in several foreign countries including Mexico, areas of the Caribbean and Bermuda. Work in recent years has had a strong emphasis on fractional interest, whole ownership, and timeshare residential projects; mixed use projects; commercial resort development; master planned developments; and hotels. We are particularly experienced in analyzing larger and more complex properties. Our services include valuations for a wide range of purposes as well as analysis of market demand and feasibility. We provide a variety of appraisal and consulting services for a wide range of property types. Our clients include commercial banks, other types of lenders, equity investors, developers, legal professionals and other entities. Our typical services include these categories: Appraisal Services for virtually all resort and hospitality property types. Our work is prepared in compliance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). John Wilhelms is directly involved in the preparation of all work and holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. Consulting Services include the analysis of such things as market demand, market position (or repositioning) and feasibility for new development or redevelopment. Services can be structured to provide the necessary scope for the problem at hand. Litigation Services include both appraisal and consulting services and provides qualified, experienced support and testimony for litigation cases involving resort and hospitality properties. John Wilhelms, MAI has had extensive experience in preparing reports and testimony for a variety of litigation purposes.
