Adjunct Faculty United is the exclusive representative for the bargaining unit established by the Public Employment Relations Board ( PERB ) in the North Orange County Community College District. The unit includes part-time hourly academic employees performing credit or noncredit assignments as instructors, counselors and librarians and employed in such assignments for not more than sixty-seven ( 67 ) percent of the load of scheduled duties for a full-time regular faculty member having comparable duties averaged over the semester or term. A part-time hourly academic employee is a faculty member who is employed at an hourly or per unit rate in a position requiring minimum qualifications ( see Ed Code Sections 87482.5 & 87001 ). Adjunct Faculty United provides an association where faculty members can relate to one another on the basis of mutual assistance and cooperation in order to protect and promote their professional interests and to improve the quality of instruction and learning.
