It all started February 20th when my husband made a down payment on car he told the sales man , Peter , that we would need the asap and he said we would have it no problem by Monday or Tuesday because there was nothing wrong with the car and needed no work it just needed a new inspection sticker. The next day we went into the shop to finish up paper work. They had nothing ready for us and it took 3 hours. We gave them the benefit of the doubt that they were just busy. We were told that the car would be ready no later than the 25th (Tuesday) and that it was already in the shop being looked at and inspected. We called the 25th and were told it would be done Wednesday (the next day) and that they were backed up and busy. We tried calling Wednesday and were repeatedly placed on hold and hung up on until closing.



We called the BBB and found out that this happens A LOT at this shop, that the normal at this shop was a three to four week wait for a car and that they were rated an F. We were informed to call the DMV safety department to report them. The DMV safety department told us to wait until it had been two weeks Thursday (march 6th) and then they would get involved.



During this time we finally got a hold of them and said the car would be done Wednesday March 5th or we would get a rental free of charge. The car was not done by March 5th nor did we ever get a rental. I called myself the 5th to ask why they didn't have a rental ready knowing that we have been waiting for 13 days for and my husband works afternoons and why they wouldn't tell us what was wrong with the SUV . I was called a spoiled b**** and that their shop did not revolve around us, to stop calling and asking questions. Yes people, I called and asked a simple question and this is the customer service that you get.



So Thursday the 6th we contacted the DMV and by this point we just wanted our down payment and two payments we've made on the car back. They called Absolute Auto and guess what? They finally called us to let us know the car was not passing inspection! They had until Monday March 10th to either give us the car or our money back. Neither of which happen. We finally got some of our money back March 11th minus one car payment that they took on the spot and had a slip for FROM THEIR STORE. So now we have to fax them bank statements! When my husband went to pick up our money the guys there tried to SELL HIM ANOTHER CAR! Uh no thanks. The best part of this all is that the car we were going to buy came in on a tow truck. Yes, the car that had nothing wrong with it and ran great had to be towed to their store.



Save yourself from the mistake we made by going to these people. They will treat you like crap, not return your phone calls and above all else lie right to your face.



On another note go to CJ's in Cicero. Nice people, no lies and now we have a better car at a WAY better deal.
