We had reservations for a table of eight at 8:30 PM, on the Friday prior to the Gators vs Missouri game. We were seated on time but the service was the absolute worst I experienced during the entire weekend in Gainsville. At the ninety minute mark, we had a round of drinks and an appetizer. After talking with the waiter, the dinner finally arrived. My medium rare steak was medium well (based on the description on their menu). I was told it would be eight minutes to replace it with what I had ordered, which I declined but they brought one anyway.



When the lack of service is the topic of discussion during a dinner out at a nice restaurant, that's a problem. I asked to speak to the manager three times. Finally, after we paid our bill which included a mandatory 20% gratuity for a table of eight, our waiter brought over another waiter to talk to me. If the manager wasn't concerned enough about learning about the experience we had, then this restaurant clearly doesn't care.



We had excellent service and food at all of the other restaurants we visited during the entire weekend. Based upon our experience, stay away from the Embers, especially on a Gators football weekend.
