Krista Pennington Terracina, MD, is board-certified in general surgery, and serves as an assistant professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine's Department of Surgery. Dr. Terracina attended medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, and moved thereafter to Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia to complete her residency. During her residency, Dr. Terracina completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cancer biology at the Massey Cancer Center in Richmond, and became administrative chief resident. Following this she completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C.At UF Health, Dr. Terracina specializes in colon and rectal surgery. She is a member of the Association for Academy Surgery, the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery. She has also been granted several awards, including the resident teaching award, administrative chief resident award, and Virginia Commonwealth University Humanism in Medicine and Excellence in Teaching Award.
