Dr. Michael Reza Massoomi grew up in Atlanta, GA. He completed his undergraduate degree at Georgia Tech and medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Emory University then moved to Gainesville, FL, to complete his general and interventional cardiology fellowships at University of Florida, where he also served as chief cardiology fellow. He is an assistant professor of medicine within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Florida. His clinical interests include coronary artery disease, nutrition, preventive medicine, general health and well-being, and incorporation of personal electronics and biometric devices in clinical practice. He focuses on treating patients with a combination of lifestyle modification, medication and invasive procedures to help them achieve and maintain optimal health. At UF he serves as interventional cardiology faculty, performing high risk PCI, mechanical support, TAVR and other advanced procedures. He also is an active participant in various quality improvement initiatives and fellow education. His hobbies include photography, cycling, running, woodworking and music.?
