Philip George Jr., MD, is an assistant professor of medicine at the University Of Florida College Of Medicine in the division of cardiovascular medicine.He attended medical school at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine before coming to UF to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine. He later completed a fellowship in the department of cardiovascular medicine at the University of South Florida before returning to Gainesville for an electrophysiology fellowship. Upon completion of his fellowships, he served as a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist at Naples Community Hospital in the Naples Heart Institute.Dr. George is board certified in internal medicine, echocardiography, cardiovascular disease and clinical care electrophysiology. He has been recognized with the UF Resident Teaching Excellence Award, Dr. Guillermo B. Cintron USF Fellow of the Year Award. He also has years of volunteer experience, working with Caring HeARTS, Medical Students in Action and serving with the department of community service at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
