Dr. Braet completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana where she received her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. She is a 2019 graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry, where she graduated Cum Laude. Dr. Braet was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and Tomb and Key Honor Society for excellence in academics and ethics. During her clinical training, Dr. Braet managed patients at the Wilmington, Delaware Veterans Affairs Medical Center with macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, cataracts, hereditary retinal diseases and glaucoma. At the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, she managed advanced glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmic disorders, and specialty contact lens fits. Additionally, she spent time in the Pediatrics department where she enjoyed working with children of all ages. Dr. Braet found her love of primary eye care in Midwest City, Oklahoma where she managed acute eye disease, contact lens complications, and provided primary eye care to patients of all ages. Dr. Braet has special interest in pediatrics, contact lenses, and urgent care. She has extensive experience managing glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and cataracts. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, and West Central Optometric Society. Dr. Braet is originally from Moline, Illinois, where most of her family still resides. She enjoys running, hiking, cooking, exploring thrift stores, and cheering for all Chicago sports teams.
