BEST DOCTOR & GREAT STAFF------EVER
by Mountbatten
I have had nothing but the best service for the past five (5) years--Since finding this office in Galloway. Most thorough exam ( as a Private Pilot I have had many eye exams), and Dr Mattson has been the only Eye Doctor to have found a "freckle" on the extreme inside edge of my right eye. This is a potential source for cancer, similiar to a mole on one's arm or neck. She photographs this "freckle" and compares the size annually. I have seen dozens of eye doctors in my 65 years, and Dr, Mattson conducts a more thorough exam than the FAA approved doctors that conduct the annual flight examinations. Margo has been in this office since my first visit. Margo has be so nice to work with, does a super job with my VSP insurance and the claim forms. I never have to do anything outside of paying my co-pay for the exam. In five (5) years, and five pair of glasses the service has been kind, efficient, and without any mistakes. My spouse says the same--Polite and Efficient !!! i am astounded at the malicious and slanderous review of August 10, 2011 by "cbus". I am SO SORRY that I did not see this "review" last year------I AM HAPPY TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT. A superior doctor with a superior Staff to take great care of you and your family.

I had a decent visit with the doctor back in early 2010. I felt she was fine, but really nothing special. From my experience, the staff was incompetent in dealing with insurance claims and the office manager (Margo) was extremely rude. I would recommend going elsewhere for your vision needs. As mentioned, I had an eye exam in early 2010, and I paid my co-pay at the time with the remainder going through my insurance. I also received a zero balance invoice to take home that day. At the same time, I ordered contacts, and picked them up in the office a month later. I received a cell phone call from the office over a year after that saying I owed over $100, and that this was the last step before they sent my information to collections. I never received any communication via mail or phone, or even in person when I picked up my contacts, before this point. Supposedly, the office sent letters in the mail, but I never received them, and I have never had trouble receiving mail from anyone else. Regardless, once I received the invoice, I noticed that they had run the insurance through the wrong company. However, since over a year had passed since my appointment, the insurance would not approve the charge, and I had to pay for it out of my pocket. I have no problem with paying the invoice, however, the fact is that I had valid insurance to cover the amount, and that is what your insurance is supposed to be used for. If I had been notified within a year of my appointment that the office was having problems with my insurance, the issued would have been resolved with no problem. When I tried to explain that the eye office had charged the wrong insurance, the office manager was extremely difficult and blatently rude to me. This is just an FYI...why deal with an unskillful staff for an average eye doctor? I'd just go somewhere that has a better reputation, and a polite staff that knows how to work with insurance claims.
