Provided by YP.comMy husband and myself was in a car accident when another driver struck a large cow, which then we struck. This resulted in every airbag being deployed, the windshield being shattered, the car launching into the air, and crashing back onto the ground (all four tires landed back on the ground). When we were able to get the car stopped in the median-our ears were ringing, our eyes and throats were burning from the powder and blast from the air bags. That's when the shock and horror of what all just happened set in. The police, firemen, and ambulance was there within minutes. We were in the process of being checked out by the cops/firemen/ambulance and giving reports when the tow truck arrived. He promptly came over, mumbled his name and who he was with, and announced that he was "taking this car". We had to get the police involved because the driver repeatedly stated that he was taking our car, when we were still trying to give reports, contact family, insurance companies, and trying to remove our belongings from the vehicle. The driver stated, "you will get a new vehicle, and a nicer one" because of the make of the vehicle, and told us that he was taking the car to the impound lot in Santa Fe/Albuquerque New Mexico area, hours away from where we were when the accident happened, and even further away from where we live. Which was a very big deal, because we were hours from our home, and had no family or friends in the town of Gallup, NM. We were stranded, and had just been in a car accident. He then continued trying to load the vehicle stating that "it's his job, and he needed to go" the police had to get involved and tell him that he needed to wait so we could get our belongings out of the car, and instruct that the car was to be towed a location locally, not hours away. While trying to explain to the driver that we had a tow truck coming, that we needed to contact because the police had called one, he said " I am taking this car and that's that". After the police got involved, due to the miscommunication, he then stated that "he couldn't deal with this", and said, "that you guys have to find our own way back in town" and walked off. This review is based on the driver and that driver alone, this is the face of the company that we first came in contact with. The next day when contacting Gila Mountain Towing, we were given an apology from the owner with how poorly the situation was handled by the driver. The lady that was at the tow yard when we arrived, was very polite and helpful, the complete opposite of the driver that we encountered the night before.
