I got a bill in the mail today from American Family Care for services provided over a year and a half ago. Apparently they were quoting me the wrong co-pay amount for years and just now decided that they would try and collect on their screw up. On top of that they are threatening me with collections if I do not pay within two weeks. This is my first notification I received. It took them a year and a half to notify me of these charges and yet they only want to give me two weeks to pay. They also spelled my name wrong. When I called them they told me to call my insurance provider and it was their fault. VIVA informed me that the amount the office told me to pay as a co-pay was the clinics responsibility. It seems as though they are hiring under qualified representatives who do not know how to run a clinic. This seriously makes me wonder if the doctors they hire are as incompetent. Now I have to worry about this organization sending me random bills in the mail for every visit because they decided to quote way lower co-pay amounts than their clinic was authorized to take. I guess this is their way of getting customers. Tell them they owe a certain amount and then years later threaten their credit score with collections if they don't pay the amount they could actually collect on. I would suggest never using this office or trusting anything they tell you.
